i’m off my damian hiatus long enough to say that it’s pretty fucked up that injustice vs he man and the masters of the universe had the gall to have damian beg forgiveness from the father who actually abused him right before they killed him.

Every once in awhile i reminisce on the mock school shootings we'd do when i was in high school and how it felt when suddenly someone would interrupt class to say there had been another school shooting and we'd all watch footage and news updates on our phones and school laptops and how people who are like 25 years old and under are growing up in/had to grow up in a world where the adult population that was supposed to keep us safe didnt actually care whether or not today was the day we'd be going home from school in a body bag and i dont really pay much attention to contemporary social commentary but i am concerned that maybe this is not brought up enough re: conversations surrounding gen z's mental health and general demeanor . Like i think maybe the specter of bleeding out in study hall looming over everyones head is at least just as harmful as tiktok algorithms or whatever but i dont know

And yes when i say mock school shootings i mean once a year a plain clothes police officer would enter the building with a real fire arm and shoot blank rounds down a random hallway and we'd all have to either evacuate or lock down depending on the officers proximity to the room. Said officer also had a nerf gun that they would shoot at students and staff with if/when they made it into a classroom. They wouldnt tell us when it was going to happen either- simply 'ALICE training is this week guys!' And that was that- no specifications about the day of the week or period. Which meant that we would spend every day that week straining to listen for fucking actual gunfire in anticipation for the drill and it was very nerve wracking. That shit does not feel like a fire drill, it doesnt feel like a tornado drill, its exhilarating and frantic and existential. Maybe the people who've been doing it since preschool find the drill equally as droll as any other, but i didnt. We never did. I dont know if they even do them anymore. Well anyway

Hello! I don't know if this has been asked before, but do you have any tutorials or resources for script writing in unity?

for unity programming in general:

sebastian lague, has some easy to follow videos that cover a lot of concepts and can be good practice to just follow along

lottemakesstuff, a bunch of tutorials on neat stuff you can do with unity

and for shader stuff:

minionsart, makes some really easy to follow shader tutorials

alan zucconi, also makes some really nice shader tutorials (plus some programming ones)

if you have xkit, the tagviewer extension lets you get past all that!

but this is what it does to me on mobile not on desktop?? ive given up checking my notes on my phone because of it, now i only use xkit :(( (but also sometimes i check them anyway by clicking on the post itself then the number then i click one reblog at a time) it SUCKS

ah i should have been clearer about what i meant! yeah i would not be able to LIVE without the xkit tag viewer (the old xkit tag viewer had JUST stopped working for me right before the saints at @new-xkit-extension brought it back, and i thought i’d have to quit the site entirely no joke), and i still only use that when i’m checking reblogs on my original posts. because like 90% of reblogs have either no tags or just admin-type tags, so what’s the point. 

but i do this THING where, when i have the time, i check all of my mutuals’ reblogs from me, even when it’s not original posts, because i only follow people who say things in the tags and so i like to see what my friends have to say about this thing. there are also certain non-mutuals who i know will say stuff in tags, and i’ll check their reblogs from me too. and because i don’t make a lot of original content and am not super popular, my notes are sparse enough that i can do this kind of picking and choosing cause i don’t usually get flooded with a bunch of notes on the same post. so yeah, i’m sad that i can’t do that anymore, because when tumblr lumps notes together i can’t click on an individual person’s icon and get a link to that post.

I am a student, I don't get paid a lot of money monthly and I still need to get the money to buy my school books and actually pay the university so EXCUSE THE FUCK OUT OF ME for buying cheaper things while I try to adjust in a country I've only been in for three weeks.
