May/June Sit Rep

Several people received visitations from a mysterious figure called the Watcher, among them: Baron Zemo, Jessica Jones, Carol Danvers, Aeron Pike, and Gamora. He hinted at greater things to come. Jack Romulus and Mar-Vell returned to Earth after a five year absence. They are currently inhabiting an old farmhouse that formerly belonged to the now deceased SHIELD director, Tyler Brandt. A new, young mutant named Dylan has also shown up in New York. Steve Rogers has returned to the role of Captain America after the apparent death of Sam Wilson. He and Carol Danvers are working to reinvigorate the Avengers, even bringing on new recruits. Additionally, he’s ran into others such as Aeron and Gamora at a bar and even discussed business with Carol over some ice cream.  Newly reinstituted SHIELD agent Grant Ward acquainted himself with fellow agent Jami Newhardt and Avengers recruit, Ellie St. Cloud. Ellie also met Dr. Henry McCoy when he was asked by Captain Marvel to assist the young woman in learning to better control her powers. She encountered corrupt politician Alec Kiernan in a cafe and an astrally projecting Stephen Strange.  Ellie’s guardian, Jami, spoke with her ward. The SHIELD engineer also bumped into Aeron when a thief broke into the mechanic’s place of work and also ended up meeting the living star, Jack Romulus.  Kiernan himself also met with the mechanic, Aeron Pike, and Zemo’s lackey, Daken. Daken escorted Kiernan to a meeting with Zemo. Meanwhile, Quicksilver is having doubts about being a hero. Both he and Daken are being courted to join Mystique’s new Brotherhood. Pietro was also confronted by Carol when he failed to stop a purse snatcher.  Dr. Bruce Banner finally returned out of hiding now that the threat of HOPE has ended. He was reunited with his old friends Hank McCoy and Steve Rogers during a visit to Central Park as well as meeting Aeron and bonding with Ellie over the tremendous power they both held inside themselves. Beast himself met with Gamora to discuss the sudden disappearance of Peter Quill.

Rules Amendments

Long form and short form paras: Long form paras are the normal type that we’ve been doing with a two paragraph minimum. These are for more important, in depth paras. Short form paras are only one or two paragraphs and can be used for more casual, quick events to move a story forward. Updated hiatus rules: A new limit of one month of hiatus before a player must check back in with the main. If they want to extend their hiatus by another month, they can. Just let the main blog know. After three months of hiatus or not hearing back from someone, they will be dropped from the group and must re-apply if they would like to join again. 

Plot updates and activity checks: There will be monthly plot updates around the 15th day of each month, briefing everyone on the events in-universe. There will also be monthly activity checks, expected to be sent in to the main blog by the end of the month or the first day of the following month. This will consist of a short synopsis of what your character, or characters if you are playing multiple, has been up to in the proceeding month. In the case of multiple characters, one message talking about all your characters from just one of the blogs is fine.

September/October Sit Rep

Hank McCoy finally revealed to Gamora his part in asking Peter Quill to leave Earth to pursue Thanos. She took the shocking news surprisingly well and the conversation turned to defeating the Mad Titan. He also sat down with friend and fellow Illuminati member Bruce Banner to discuss combatting Thanos. Beast and Aeron Pike infiltrated a Hydra facility in Mexico dealing with mutant growth hormone, based on a tip from SHIELD.  Daken, Baron Zemo, and Alec Kiernan met to plan Hydra’s next move. The mutant assassin also caught wind of the Winter Soldier returning to the US. He stalked the former Hydra pawn through the streets of New York to prevent Bucky from contacting the Avengers. Additionally, Daken was confronted by Jack Romulus in a dive bar, seeking to impart a warning to him.  Jack Romulus has been working on getting settled down again now that they are back on Earth, but he still hasn’t quite found his footing. He’s torn between his moral mentor, Mar-Vell, and his bondmate, Thanos, and trying to find his own identity. He’s interested in trying to find a job, probably as a welder or firefighter, but doesn’t feel quite focused enough for it yet. So, now that most of the repairs on their house are finally done, he has plenty of free time and has lately been using it to do some weird errands for Mar. The Kree has sent him off to go give people extremely vague warnings to take action before some unknown catastrophe can happen. Still in a deep depression, though, Jack hasn’t been his old, friendly self lately. He’s a little combative and not taking things as seriously as he should. Mar-Vell has also been going out and trying to make contact with people. He doesn’t understand what threat is coming – his cosmic awareness just stops, as if existence itself just stops, and he’s struggling not to worry too much about the return of the Foesitians, which is what it almost feels like to him. Mar doesn’t know what to wan people about, but he’s certainly going to try. In a meeting with Hank McCoy, he realized how grim and withdrawn he’s grown lately, and knew this is the effect of spending too much time with Thanos; if he isn’t careful, he might lose himself the way Jack seems to slowly be doing.

As for Thanos, he’s been absent. He spends most of his time in Sanctuary III, just chilling and working on a very special science experiment – one he’s sure will benefit all of mankind… and, eventually, beyond.
