«Well?»
«How is your training going?»
Drift is 90% sure these two haven't even met yet.
Pavonine's crew was compromised of some of the nastiest 'Cons still left alive: the ones who had been turned into rabid animals by the war, the ones who refused to let it die. The two hulking mecha blundering towards the arsenal were no exception to the rule; not quite Magnus sized perhaps, but they were still quite impressive. Crunch. Attack drones were flattened into pancakes in their path, and they seemed to laugh at every attempt to take them down.
"This is what I'm talking about! She promised a battle to remember! Haha, since the rest of command is too much of a wuss to try and fight anymore!" one of them hollered, one with a brown paint job.
The other shoved at him with an arm. "Hush up with yer yammerin'! Ah can't line up a shot with yah goin' on like that," the green one chastised before aiming at a drone and shooting it down without even looking. "Anyone tell yah yah talk too much?"
The brown one didn't even seem to hear. "Ohoho! Do you see what I see up there? That looks like a weapon's vault! Let's go have a look!"
«Good. There’s never been a battle won by a pushover of an officer.»
«Would you prefer one-on-one or group training? Because if you’re fine with one-on-one, I’ve got somebody perfect for you to start with—if you’re feeling up to a challenge.»
< If an officer is a push over, he shouldn’t be an officer at all. Sir. >
< One-on-one works for the ones who need the most help. Group training is more for mechs who are already familiar with firearms. A challenge? Incinerator and I never back down from one of those. Who is it? >
«Swerve. The bartender? He's the second worst shot I've ever met in my life. He could definitely use some one-on-one training.»
Not sure what kind of training you need, but if it's basic skills and possible proper etiquette, Incinerator and I could offer some assistance. >
«That could help, yes.»
«The Autobots actually have a formal program used to train, educate, and socialize new Cybertronians, and apparently the full-scale system was very effective, so I’m really hoping to find somebody who knows how to administer that program. But, if I can’t, we’ll need to improvise—and I’d appreciate your assistance on that.»
Ripclaw now has sharpxshoot's scent.
When Ripclaw noticed the strange mech, she had been napping on the floor in her beast mode. She sat up and stretched out before sitting up. After a moment of considering the other mech, she slowly approached him and sniffed several times near his feet.
Sept 9 Lost Light Movie Night chat
Last night's movie chat. Because stuff relevant to Drift's life happened in there so I guess I'm tracking this thing.
Summary of the evening: Rodimus pouts. That's basically it.
«To all new combat recruits.»
«Welcome to the ship. I'm Drift, Field Commander and Training Lead, so you all will be reporting to me. I'd like to meet each of you personally, so, over the next couple of days, I'll expect you to find time to come down to meet me and show me what you've got. I'll be in Training Room 113, drop by any time over the next two days and I'll be there.»
«I hope nobody will think I'm playing favorites if I say that I'm particularly looking forward to meeting bugatti-samurai. Hope we'll get a chance to trade swordfighting tips. But before then, business. If you're going to be close-arms trainer, we're going to have to discuss when, who, and how many you're willing to teach, and then discuss getting the news out to the crew. Same to you, sharpxshoot, but with guns. In fact, you two--make friends. You're probably going to be working together a lot.»
«blue-and-black-hero, brokenhonorarywrecker, I've never worked with humans who expect to be combatants in Cybertronian battles before, so this is going to be an experiment for all of us. Come in prepared to tell me everything you can do, everything you can't do, and then run some drills so I can see what you're capable of. Also, if you haven't already, at some point you'll need to report to Ultra Magnus, as he's the only officer on this ship who's had a human combatant serving under him before. Speaking of which--lostlightsecurity, I want a full report about what I should expect out of human soldiers.»
«alpha113n-redshirt-eradicon, are you a human too? The roster doesn't say you are, but your name's listed as Allen, so I thought I should check. If you are, expect to go through the same process as Riou and Miko.»
«wind-blade, you wouldn't happen to be the one who came to our horror movie night, would you? In any case--aside from talking about combat, I have another proposition to discuss with you. Rodimus wants to organize a group of mechs to explore spiritual, mythical, and legendary resources on the Knights of Cybertron, in hopes of finding more potential leads to their location. With your history with Metrotitans, I think you'd make a great addition to that team. Nautica's also being invited--you know her, right? I'll talk to you about that when I see you.»
«nevercherishhope, Rodimus wanted you to be on that team, too, so we'll talk about that. In addition: I understand that you have a Great Sword now? Bring it with you when you come down. If you can, also bring whatever information you have on its original owner.»
«crossweaponhairs, I know we've already met, but I still expect you to come down. I haven't seen your combat capabilities yet.»
«predacon-ripclaw, is your comm frequency accurate? Are you really one of the Predacons? If so, have you gone through the Reintegration process yet? And are any of the other Predacons going to be joining you?»
«rouge-colored-femme... are you actually an Autobot now? Or are you still neutral? Regardless--considering your past record, the odds are good that Ultra Magnus or Red Alert is going to put restrictions on what kinds of weapons you're allowed to carry or wield. If they've already done that, bring that info to me so I'll know to incorporate that into any combat plans involving you.»
«And I think that's everybody! Again, welcome to the ship. I'm excited to have you all as part of our crew, and I look forward to meeting each of you individually.»
I was given various frequencies and this is one of them. I'm new to your ship's crew. Thought I'd report in.
Magnus: ::I take your application was approved by Rodimus? Greetings, my designation is Ultra Magnus and I am second-in-command of the ship. Has the Captain assigned you your new rank, too?::
