I just had a very brief but very strong mental image of Matt asking Shiro, "So, you escaped, right? Why didn't you come back for me?"

Oh my god.

Why do you have to break my heart like this.

Even though I see this more as a reoccurring nightmare Shiro has had? Like we get a dark!matt (kind of like the dark Shiro we see in his battle with haggar) and as their fighting that’s all Matt says? “Why didn’t you come back for me Shiro, it’s your fault. I died and it’s all your fault”

Kind of survivors guilt I guess. But you can imagine that when they get back together Matt reassures him that it was fine, Shiro did what he had to

Matt and Shiro living together after the Voltron thing and a dog that showed up a year ago that they returned home has come back after escaping again. Matt wants to keep him for the night. (It's oddly specific but this is actually something that's happened.)

This is such a good headcanon. Give me Shatt with a dog. Ooo what if, Shiro and matt with Service dogs! Shiro with a German Shepard and Matt with a golden retriever!!
