          ‘ -- no. ’ hermann swallows thickly, then coughs, as if the kaiju blood slowly creeping along the floor is in his throat instead; a thick, viscous, neon blue. ‘ no! no, no. ’

          ‘ you are punch drunk, and you are -- ’ 

          hermann squints. what is that? pale, green-yellow, staining newton’s button down like a bad case of sweat. the kaiju’s equivalent of serous fluid. possibly. he rests his weight on his left leg, brandishing his cane at newton like a sword. ‘ you are dripping everywhere. i’ve rewritten these notes twice. i shan’t be doing it a third. ’

a hideously late starter for @shatterdoom

     Today has not been one of the best days for Matthaus, nor the best of weeks, months or years. Firstly, he was kicked from his main lab back in Kodiak Island, then he’d been issued his new assignment and finally ferried all over the world as one by one each shatterdome was closed. Really, this was not his idea of a good time. Still, he had a job to do, so he might as well just live with it before his position was finally cut.

     “Hey uh...” he starts. He never has been good with words. “You the scientist who was inquiring about the drift tech or have I got the wrong guy?”
