I felt pulled to make a shawl pin the other day, and I've been thinking of making more. What do y'all think? Different beads, plain wire?
Pinning your shawl with a knitting needle: boring, basic, has been done before
Pinning your shawl with a mini sword: incredibly sexy
Penannular shawl pins, made from wire coat hanger.
The metal is very stiff and hard to work with. Next time, I might try annealing the wire in the oven before working with it.
Do you know how to use a pennanular brooch? It's the easiest thing! This is an ancient design from the iron age, so simple, yet so beautiful and so absurdly functional. Works great on woven shawls, cloaks and knitted fabrics! Follow me on Instagram to see my newest creations - @ loitsutar
