I applied for a different job today. I am interested to see how it goes. Kittens are awful at laundry, and excellent at napping.

I applied for a different job today. I am interested to see how it goes. Kittens are awful at laundry, and excellent at napping.
I started a new job at a preschool/daycare last Thursday. I am wiped out, but it’s good. My classroom and coworkers are great. I am slowly but surely starting to feel at home here.
Living with Jason is amazing. It’s so nice to have someone who is happy to come home to me. He’s great with my kids. He even vacuumed this morning because he knew I’d be tired tonight.
Things are really looking up.
I got “just because” flowers, and they are as lovely as the guy who gave them to me. Living with @stowingaway is pretty dreamy so far.
Sometimes I really miss living by the ocean.
The kids and I scattered my grandma’s ashes today. Then we hung out at the lake for a few and listened to Patsy Cline on the way home. I’m going to sleep ridiculously early tonight.
I am totally owning my forties. Got a nice check for the property sale. To celebrate I bought three very comfortable bras, groceries for a few recipes that I want to try, and filled up my gas tank. Life is good.
I wasn’t counting on the feeling of relief being so huge. This was a stressful endeavor. No matter what monkey wrenches were thrown my way I handled my shit and kept my chin up. Gaining my individuality, some confidence, after spending my whole adult life with an incredibly manipulative and abusive person, it’s been amazing. Incredibly hard, and absolutely amazing. I’m so proud of myself.
I have more court stuff. Uuuugghhh. Luckily it’s wrapping up stuff. It’s a little disheartening. I’ve been dealing with these same things for four years now. This should be it. I’m super grateful it’s financial stuff and not custody things. While the kid’s dad just bailing on them is awful, it does make some aspects much easier for me. I can’t tell them we are much better off without him, but, it’s true.
Two rounds of court and $15,000 later, I think escrow will go through on my property sale on Monday. I’m so relieved, but am still waiting for something else to go wrong at the same time. My ex’s lawyer is withdrawing, because Nathan is pulling an epic toddler tantrum because he didn’t get his way. It is amazing how much one narcissistic asshat can fuck everything up.
I’m going to be so glad to be able to walk away and start over. The kids and I deserve so much better, and that’s what we are going to go and get. My California heart is still wrapping it’s brain around doing so in Iowa, but it should be good, for sure.
