Shawn's First Single

     Shawn has been babbling to you all month about his single release. That night, you two lie down on his bed. You know that the pressure is really getting to him, given that your first song is huge and can decrease your fan base by a lot if it sounds horrible. With Shawn's voice, you know he can't physically sing badly. Except for when you both are fooling around and dancing around his room. He's your life, and you thoroughly love being there for him.

     "Shawn, it's gonna be fine. Your fans love you. They'll support you no matter what. Where's that excitement you had the first time you played me 'Life of the Party?' And don't tell me it's not there cause I know you're lying," you smile at the boy who has changed you for the better. As he stares up at you with his amber eyes, you can see him smirking slightly in the way he always does when you two talk late at night.

     "What if they don't like it?" He asks. He can't see how good he is, can he? But boys are dumb so you cut him some slack.

     " 'We don't have the time to be sorry,' " you quote. He grins a you before sitting up. As he raps on arm around your waist, you realize how much you never want him to leave you. "I never thought I could love someone the way I love you...you're the life of MY party. You got this."

     "You know when we first met I thought you were crazy, right?" Shawn jokes. How could you forget? You met him at a supermarket down in Pickereing, Ontario (where you both live.) You almost tackled the poor boy. Anyone could only imagine the shock you felt when he gave you his number.

     "I remember. I just prefer the term 'dedicated.' It prevents my parents from worrying about me...too much," you laughed.

     "Y/n? You ready?" Shawn asks, referring to checking to see if his song has reached iTunes yet. He's been carefully monitoring all his social media for the last few minutes, all the while maintaining as much eye contact with you as possible. "It's up!" He screams like a girl.

     You laugh at his excitement. Shawn is 15 going on 8, and you love him for it. In the heat of the moment, you almost don't register his lips on top of yours. Almost. He's your first kiss and you slowly move your lips in time with his as you hear the chorus of 'Life of the Party' playing faintly in the background. As you kiss him, the sung words reign true to you. And in that moment, nothing matters. There's just you and Shawn. And you don't regret anything.

     "I love you," he whispers against your lips. You kiss him once more to let him know that you feel the same way. Then, you lean back and stare at the boy who rocks your world.
