i once wondered if a demon were to bruise would the harsh welt fade to the purple-blue hues i see on humans so as to show that all that is not holy is sinful? if a devil were to injure their physical form, would they bleed red? would they bleed at all? i knew for certain, at least drops of sunlight wouldn't pour from a gash, for ichor only flows from the wounds of gods and angels (i should consider myself lucky) i watch him as he sleeps noticing the midnight marks forming on his throat, collarbone, shoulders, back; inky nebulas on an ivory galaxy. i marvel that i was the one to place them there i know now that he will bleed black but when he kisses me, it does not matter my blood is as black as his.
