What are your thoughts on the current roleplay trends on here right now?

I think they are all TRASH.
I’m kidding.. am I? lol
Um what I have seen is probably a lot of the bad stuff. Like white washing, the unwilling muns who won’t make their themes and posts legible to a person with bad eye sight such as myself. If i were to go into writing any thing that pertains to “kinks” that aren’t kinks and just plain bad writing least bad etiquette (if you’re going to write trash just say you’re trash and don’t be surprised when people are calling you out for it) bad behavior etc. But hm ... to be honest I’m not on here like that to really catch on “trends”. If I were to talk about something I read @themercifulmother post about making a traditionally white fandom character and making them into a character of color without realizing the nuances (specifically they were talking about movies but I think this applies to an rp trend I have been seeing) or just how different that character would be because they are a person of color you know? I seen that being a trend around here and I can’t say I haven’t taken a white character and wrote them as a person of color. I honestly prefer it because I’m just going to write characters of color but It is important to realize how that traditional character is different and that there will be more work to them then just acknowledging they’re a “black batman” for instance(an example xia used). Not all people do this of course I mean It’s like pulling teeth to see a non white superhero (that was casted white in movies etc) being written but it sorta sucks when that’s it there’s no forethought, headcanons etc. I loved that post btw and I think it’s a conversation muns of color should have- muns in general even if they are white. Like we love to SEE IT. but there can be a performative act when the character is written and nothing about them really changes or is evolved? This doesn’t happen often but when it does im just like :/ Alexa please play we_coulda_had_it_all.mp3
Also krp’s idk if they still do this but the ones that be like “i don’t rp with western faces” bitch WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?? lmao
