the nightmares never ended and he knew what had happened in the past would haunt him for the rest of his life. people he called friends and the other seven people who were with him that night were all people he had been actively avoiding (some more than others). he was just thankful that his parents were keeping him shielded away from the public and those who were inquisitive about the event. mike had played that hero role without even realising it, but he was still more concerned with the other girls and guys in his group who had went through much worse in michael’s books. he assumed being in london was fine --- he had ran into jessica (which was perfect in his books) and he hadn’t really imagined bumping into anyone else whilst he was in the foreign country. that was until he laid eyes on emily. his ex-girlfriend, someone he had held high in his ranks and the girl he had also held a gun up to at one point during that hysterical and horrifying night. mike had all intentions of avoiding her, though seeing as she was walking straight towards him, he knew he had no choice but to greet her and snap her out of her daze. “em? hey..” he whispered nervously, scratching at his eyebrow. “you’re here too??” there would always be a part of him that cared for the girl in front of him, he demonstrated that through the TWO hugs they shared that night; something he knew jess wouldn’t be happy to hear. but the blonde had to know that he would always harbour something for the brunette. a part of him was telling him this conversation wasn’t going to go down smoothly. “how... how are you??”
