The cold breeze hit you more as a car passed you. You tugged your jacket closer to you,as if it would bring more warmth if you tighten it around you.
Perhaps there were still some of your baked concha’s, that you had made the night before. If there is,you for sure were going to pair it with a cup of hot chocolate.
You almost drooled at that thought, you were starving from your shift that you had just worked.
Hopefully there were still some, and hopefully your snacker boyfriend hasn't finished them all. Speaking of boyfriend, Tim still hasn't responded to your message that you had sent an hour ago. You didn't mind too much, you had an idea of what your boyfriend is up to. You sighed as another gust of breeze passed you.
Since Tim has revealed his second occupation, you've grown to the late night schedule he held. The two of you grew over time, though it never stopped the small pit of worry. When there is an upcoming danger your boyfriend puts himself in.
The sound of your shoes hitting the payment helped with the silent night. Gotham has always held its crime in the shadows, though rent was cheap therefore you just stayed. You knew about the dangers that can occur in the span of one night. So did Tim, which made him worry when you were out at night. By yourself or with someone didn't settle his worries. You've explained over time and time that he shouldn't worry too much. That he was always your first contact to reach within an emergency. As well you had trust in him, you never have doubted his ability to ever find you in case of emergency.
You've always had trust in him, and he knows it.
You made a turn into the familiar alley, when you caught a blur of red and black in the corner of your eye.
You found yourself smirking, when you noticed the one and only red robin pause when you hadn't acknowledged him.A little game you liked to play with Tim when he was in uniform. Is to pretend that you didn't know who was under the black domino mask. Occasionally you liked to talk to him in 3rd person about him.
Suddenly Red Robin dropped in front of you.
“Good evening Mrs. Are you in need of assistance?” He faked his voice into a deeper tone. You smirked at his question before putting your hand into your jacket pocket.Soon you turned your gaze to the red robin who still stood in front of you. “I'm good, though my boyfriend hadn't responded to my text” you casually replied while pulling out your phone. You turned on your phone the bright screen showing notifications from apps and group chats.
“Say, you wouldn't have seen him recently” you pulled your gaze away from your phone.” Have you?” Your eyebrow lifted while you smirked at the person in front of you while he coughed into his elbow. You continued walking at a slower, relaxed pace.
Red Robin stepped in front of you and began walking backwards. his arms were crossed in front of his chest. you were sure that if you saw his face there would be a smug look on it. “oh, really? where do you think he might be?” if it was a situation where you knew that there wouldn’t be any onlookers, you would have stepped closer to him. From the looks of it Tim didn't mind as he slowed down his own pace.
Red Robin was about a foot away from your face at this point. “I don’t know, but if he doesn’t text me back I might have to call the police,” you stated before you stopped in place. Red Robin then inched closer to you, and you looked at his mask. Sometimes you swore it mirrored his actual expressions.
“This boyfriend of yours, is he frail?” he teased. You could feel his breath brush against your face. Out of the corner of your eye you noticed some people stopping on the other side of the alley to perhaps gawk at your interaction. They didn’t loiter long, however, and soon you were alone again.
Luckily, there was an unspoken rule in Gotham, to not to directly approach any bats.
“Well, I mean, he’s quite sensitive. I don't know if he could handle himself if he got into some trouble.” Tim's real laugh echoed off the walls. You never grew tired of Tim's laugh, it was a melodious sound, you cherished it in your heart.Briefly biting your lower lip, you contemplated how much more you wanted to tease him.
“I'll keep an eye out for him,” Red Robin replied, “how’s that sound?”. You stepped to walk around him, but held eye contact. “That sounds amazing, thank you sir.” You turned away fully and began to walk your way to your shared apartment. In a swoop Red Robin whipped his grappling hook onto a ladder to your left and flung himself over on a lower rooftop.
You paused for a brief second. To witness the way Tim always fit so naturally when he glided from building to building. You continued to walk to your shared apartment. While also watching the way Tim moved his body whenever he did parkour to move from place to place. From this angle you could see his muscles fitted against his uniform, the way his hair moved softly from the breeze of pace.
Soon you were in front of your door, so was Tim. He was casually leaning on the railing. You adjusted your bag on your shoulder to pull out the keys for the apartment. Once you had unlocked the door, you noticed Tim still hadn't moved from the railing. You clocked an eyebrow in his direction, you noticed the small smirk forming on his face.
He stepped closer towards you,one of his hands slid up your forearm and tug, you assumed in a motion to pull you closer to him. you followed his silent urge and stepped closer to him. With both hands cradling your arms, he pulled you closer even more. and soon enough, his lips placed against yours. they were soft, and you could taste maybe a little bit of the strawberry chapstick that you had lent him earlier this week.
You could feel him smile against you. You moved your hands to cradle the very back of his neck, and laced your fingers through the soft strands of his hair that fell on his lower neck. You backed away briefly, but he brought you closer to him again. His lips moved gently, and he found solace in how he was kissing you. He was never really aggressive, always treating you as if you were glass that could break. Before he even tried to slip his tongue into your mouth you pulled away for the final time.
Your hands lingered on his face, and then you began talking. “Oh god, please don’t tell my boyfriend about this!” one hand raised to cover your mouth in false playful shock.
Tim smiled, playing along to your game. You could actually see him grin from ear to ear. “Im sure he won’t mind. After all, I am Red Robin and super irresistible” He chuckled at his own comment. You playfully rolled your eyes.
You didn’t quite step away yet your voice lowered slightly as you spoke, “please be safe, okay?” your eyes traced his visible features. “Come home safely, love” your tone lowered more at the last sentence.
“Of course. I'll be home in an hour? Does that sound good?” His tone matched your own, you nodded at his words.
One of his hands went up to cradle your face. You slightly leaned in to his touch.
“Love you.”
“Love you too, bird boy.”
“Hey! That's bird man to you,” he pointed accusingly.
“Of course. I love you too bird man,” you replied, placing emphasis on the last portion of your sentence. You moved your face from his hand, and leaned in to place a soft peck on his cheek. You could see the red blush form on his face, you chuckled at his reaction. Before you walked into your welcoming cozy apartment.
