What's your thoughts on beast having a favourite pottsfielder, like if he's with Enoch at some festival or sm, he'd chat and hang out with them if Enoch is busy with doing other festival mayor work idk. I like that idea of beast gossiping and chatting with some pottsfielder about Enoch or some serprise that one of them had planned for who ever ect. Xxx I love your fanfic and art sooooo much!!! You're incredibly talented xoxx
Oh the Beast does have a favorite Pottsfielder. And its Miss Clara. Undoubtedly. I imagine he has a lot of trouble keeping most Pottsfielder's straight if he remembers anything about them at all. They're Enoch's, that's all he needs to know, and frankly, all he bothers to remember.
I ended up talking about this more than I expected so I put in a cut
Miss Clara is the exception because she's Enoch's right hand, and among all of Pottsfield is the one who probably interacts with the Beast the most and has the best idea of What Exactly he is.
Gossip might be a strong word, the Beast isn't really the sort of creature to have gossip, but he'll certainly listen to it (Even if hardly a word of it sticks). Clara likes to tease the Beast the same way she teases Enoch about their relationship (She's a little gentler with the Beast though, he's "Delicate"). He doesn't react quite like Enoch, but if she catches him on a good day he'll play along.
The Beast knows more about Pottsfield than he would care to because Clara will talk his ear off about it, he knows how everything is run, and all about what Enoch thinks of various Pottsfielders, and all sorts about how the harvest festival is set up. And what he doesn't know from Clara, he knows from Enoch.
Enoch finds mortals amusing, the way they talk around things, the way they speak, their sensibilities, the Beast conversely, just thinks they're strange, but he likes Clara well enough.
Clara is one of only a handful of mortals that the Beast could understand keeping around.
"Ryuko.. you are positively radiant when you smile. Your beauty cannot be described in mere words. Instead, allow me to attempt conveying these unspeakable feelings I hold for you through--" He whipped out a box of chocolates, seemingly from nowhere. "--chocolate. Happy Easter. ☆"
Nobody had ever given Ryuko Matoi chocolates before.
(Well, Mako had. But Mako gives chocolates to everyone. This doesn't make her chocolates or sentiments any less valuable. But Ryuko had, admittedly, come to expect gifts of random food from her best friend at this point in their relationship.)
"M-Moron," she managed to stammer, her face reddening. "'M not takin' those from you. I've no idea where the hell they've been."
... With an attitude like that, it was a wonder she wasn't swimming in chocolate from her admirers.
