Meet Poppy. She originally belonged to a family down the street, who kept her as an exclusively outdoor cat. All school year long she walked my youngest three to school and then home from school. At some point in January, she started following them into our house. In February her former owners noticed her walking with me and asked if we wanted her because they thought she was a pain in the butt for trying to sneak into their house all the time. Then, at the end of February, they moved and took her kitten with them, but left Poppy behind. She hasn’t left our property since and so we have adopted her. She isn’t fixed and we suspect she may be pregnant as she was in heat when she started sleeping in our house. Once we know if she is pregnant, we plan to get her fixed. If she is pregnant we will wait till she weans her kittens and then take her in to get fixed. She is sweet and gentle and loving. All things considered, I am glad she found us and adopted us as her family. Poppy cat we plan to love you for the rest of your life. Welcome to the Bailey family. #longhaircat #calico #sheadoptedus (at Hoquiam, Washington)
