Because I'm getting so many questions..here are some of the steps of the making of #SheeriosFanProect2. I bought the soprano ukelele kit online. It was a good kit but was quite rough. I had to do quite a bit of sanding to the pieces before starting. I started with an all over dye of processed cyan. I knew I wanted the body of the uke to have a little more structure and to have a little more weight for better balance so I added pebeo art resin and ice-resin in a marble pattern of black and gunmetal. The sunburnt design was a bit tricky as I was working with ink...not traditional paint. I knew using paint could make it difficult to write on the words and wanted to keep a smooth surface all over. I used a darker blue in watercolor around the edges then a brush to drag it in towards the center. Once I was happy with the base of the starburst fade I went back in and added the small stripes for more depth for the pattern. I used many coats a silver paint pen to do the inner circle. The fretboard in the kit had gold and I knew I wanted to have silver so I painted the entire piece matte black then added a gold with silver over top to give it a muted silver look. I used a gel pen in dark blue for all of the words. I had considered using a paint pen (in silver of black) but the lines were too thick and I was worried I wouldn't be able to fit them all onto the uke. Once finished I did a protective coat on the uke with a krylon spray for wood. I went with a matte spray as I didn't want there to be a sheen when trying to read the words on the back of the uke. All that was left to string and tune the uke. I've aim to tune it a few more times as it takes a bit for new strings to stay in tune. BUT I am including a uke tuner in with the bag holding the uke (along with additional strings, plectrum & dusting cloth). The black bag didn't come with the kit. I took it from a soprano uke I had started playing initially (now my personal uke is a concert size). Although it took much longer than I had anticipated I am pleased with the final result. #nofilter #picoftheday #edsheeran #teddysphotos #sheerio #sheerios #faninspired #divide #dividetour #fanmade #handmade
