Clara could try to blame it on being pregnant, on all of the hormones that were swelled up inside of her as she neared her ninth month of being pregnant of twins - but it wasn’t an excuse, and she had to own up to it. “I-I’m so sorry, Eli...” she finally managed to say. Clara didn’t expect it to fix what she’d said, and she wouldn’t have been surprised at all if Eli chose to leave again for it.

Theo didn’t regret what he’d done, and he doubted that he ever would. The fact of the matter was that he knew that Lilith wanted to be a vampire so that she could be powerful, and that once she got what she wanted, she’d likely leave - and he wasn’t about to let that happen. So entirely unbeknownst to Lilith, Theo created a blood bond between the two as he turned her so that she wouldn’t be able to leave, at least not for long. “I’ve always been dead, darling,” he smirked. “And you won’t be gone for long, you’ll be back before you know it.”
