Warrior Woman

I painted this warrior woman with my non-dominant hand when I had to turn down a fun art job shortly after arm surgery; I needed to prove that I could still paint, albeit way, way slower at that time, and I'm still so proud of her!

so, these creative commons inat photos - I have a LOT of them...

When I post things to inat I upload my images as cc0 there so they can easily be reused by research and science projects powered by the site, and now I have made a large collection for myself of cc0 photos of flora and fauna! Some of them are blurry, some very low-res, some with bad lighting - but they do all document the natural world!

So, I was thinking about making them into download packs for folks who want free ref of animals and plants and fungi and slime molds and so forth?

Here's a sampling:

I like the idea of them being little zines almost, for your use as an artist or creator.

I will request they not be used by or for training any generative AIs etc, nor towards reselling them unchanged etc, but for reference or other transformative purposes they'd be free and easy.

we are in the final third of Plein Airpril! You can see my prior ten paintings here and the first ten paintings here!

Today I gave myself all the time in the world to paint this beautiful creature, which isn't really in the spirit of plein airpril, but he's my city's most famous resident and deserves all the love.

Plein Airpril continues! the first third of the month is here... and I've been collecting my paintings on my wall!

And here we are, day 11, a cellophane bee photographed on an aster of some kind and then painted in gouache on wood panel:
