Kylar hated himself at times that he did this to Mia, when he knew full well that they’d never be in a relationship, but he couldn’t help it. She was beautiful and confident, sassy in her own way, and he felt drawn to her presence. Having her in his bed was perfect at times, but he also knew she’d leave eventually. People always did, so when she was there for another night, he leaned over to her, kissing her throat softly. “The fun doesn’t have to end,” he whispered against her warm skin, hoping to entice her to stay a little bit longer.

Too Late

[hi sorry I just wrote this in a hurry and didn’t like, check anything so sorry if it’s shitty but hey ANGST]

It's too bad they couldn't get through to each other before She Ra managed to run Catra through with the sword of protection. After Catra tore reality apart in the name of winning, Adora's mind had snugly settled her into the kill-on-sight category. It was a defense mechanism, more than anything. She gave Catra chance after chance to turn things around, but it hurt too much to associate the Catra she knew and loved before with the one who attacked Bright Moon, trapped everyone in a rapidly decaying hellscape, and ultimately caused the loss of Queen Angella. Adora finally had to let go, so she did. Catra had only dug herself in deeper after that, at least as far as anybody else knew. It took hitting bedrock and passing that to realize she'd never find any kind of success or happiness in her spite. She knew it would take a lot to fix things with Adora, but she was the only one Catra knew to run back to. She probably should have tried finding Scorpia instead. As soon as Adora saw Catra, she transformed into She-Ra and began attacking. Catra only barely managed to dodge each time, shrieking and desperately trying to talk Adora down. It was fruitless, and then she made one wrong move, and it was over. As Catra desperately scratched and clawed at the sword, trying to pull it out, Adora's eyes became clearer, and she finally saw what she had done. They were both crying, though Catra was in more than just emotional pain, unlike Adora.

"Adora..." The questions missing from her mouth were all visible in her eyes. Is this it? Is this where I die? Is this what you really wanted? Do you really not love me anymore? "Catra?" What have I done? What did you want to say? Why did you come back? Why did I do this? Knowing if she pulled the sword out, Catra would just bleed out faster, and that there was nothing left she could do, Adora fell against Catra and wrapped her arms around her as best she could. "I love you. I always loved you, Catra. I still do. I always will. I promise." She waited for Catra's final words; hoped for anger, for hatred, something mean to make this hurt less. What she got were the words she'd wanted from Catra in any moment but this one. Not right now. "I'm sorry."

Keith: *tearing up because something got in his eye*

Shiro: hey, are you okay?

Keith: yeah I’m fine.

Shiro: are you sure? you’re kinda crying.

Keith: I’m not crying, I just have something in my eye.

Shiro: but your face is all red...

Keith: yeah, because I’m frustrated trying to get this shit out of my eye!

Shiro: Do you need a hug?

Keith: no! if you do that I’ll actually cry.

Shiro: why?

Keith: because I’ve been love-starved most of my life and shows of romantic affection make me emotional, you know this.

Shiro: who said it would be romantic?

Keith: you, when you asked me to be your boyfriend!

Shiro: so if I wasn’t your boyfriend, you wouldn’t cry?

Keith: no, then I would definitely cry.

Shiro: wait, why would you be crying then?!

Keith: because you broke up with me!

ok like so

rook totally develops a crush on ben early on in their partnership. he dismisses it as a passing infatuation at first, then he settles into it and lets it sit at the back of his mind, knowing it probably won’t lead to anything. he spends time with ben almost every single day anyway, so he’s satisfied with their current relationship.

but then ben gets hurt really bad on a mission. so bad he’s hospitalized. rook was there when it happened. there was nothing he could have done. he’s the one to carry ben out of the mess, begging ben to stay awake, and he’s the one to lay him on the stretcher, whispering a desperate plea for him to be ok. as soon as the ambulance doors close his mind catches up with everything and he realizes what he said in his panic.

“Ben, please. Do not let this be the end. I need my partner. I need you.”

 “I love you.”

hc: keith is hyperaware and borderline overprotective of his kids, especially his first. shiro is the chill dad who tries his best to be cool and worries that his kids don’t like him even though they totally love him.

also i’ve decided on personalities for their first three, i haven’t thought of what i want their son to be like though.

(Ricci is the first born, Luna and Alula are twins)

Ricci Starlight Shirogane: abnormally quiet up till like, age 5 when suddenly she’s super well-spoken and talkative. favorite color is yellow. has to wear glasses by age 14, and just sticks with the glasses instead of lazer eye surgery later on just because she likes the way they look. homeschooled up till 9th grade, and becomes a popular theatre kid in high school. definitely a lesbian.

Luna Krolia Shirogane: smarter than most kids her age. serious. somehow inherits shiro’s white hair, and likes to keep it short, no longer than a bob. closest with shiro, but wants to be a member of the blade like keith when she grows up. starts dyeing her hair pale lavender in her mid-teens. has keith’s intimidating aura, but she’s really nice.

Alula Phoenix Shirogane: bright and happy, think Ty Lee from a:tla. favorite color is bright red. likes astronomy and she’s really good at math like shiro. galra genes give her slightly pointy ears, but she’s not ashamed of them and always has a headband pulling her long black hair back behind them. closest with keith.

Raven stands in the center of the blazing ruins of the tribe’s camp. Nobody is left. Everything she did to protect them was for nothing. She’s going to die by the same hand that killed Vernal; the power of the Spring Maiden ripped out of her soul.

“I’m sure you’ll use this power for more than I ever could.”

Cinder huffs a laugh, assuming Raven’s final words are an admission of exhaustion and defeat. She’s always loved the sound of others suffering.

She’s too caught up relishing in Raven’s grief to stop her from stabbing herself in the heart. Cinder once again foolishly lets the power she craved slip through her fingers.

The fire in Yang’s eyes burns brighter than it used to.

The night Shiro and Adam break up, he can’t bring himself to sleep in his bed. Shiro grabs his phone and texts Keith to meet him at his TA office.

Keith sneaks out of his dorm and into Shiro’s office to find him pacing around in the dim light of a desk lamp. When he hears the door, he looks up with a face nobody who’s ever met Shiro could imagine him wearing. He looks broken, and scared, and nothing like the garrison posterboy of the pictures in award displays around campus. Shiro rushes up and grabs onto keith like a drowning cat in a river would grab a floating object.

Keith realizes immediately that he’s Shiro’s lifeline right now. He grips his sobbing best friend tighter, and that night marks the first time Keith silently promises to do whatever it takes to keep Shiro safe.

one time during a workout shiro and keith decide it’s been a while since they tried sparring, a while after the war ended they stopped because they didn’t really need to anymore, but it’s always been kinda fun for both of them so they want to do it again. keith, with his galran strength, throws shiro across the workout room as if he weighed no more than his old sword.

shiro thinks it’s hot as fuck once he regains his equilibrium, so he jokes that “if [keith] doesn’t use that strength next time they’re in the bedroom, he’s getting a divorce.”

keith knows shiro is joking and would never EVER even think of divorcing him for even a second, but still, at the sound of the word his heart cracks like hot glass meeting cold water. 

shiro notices keith starting to tear up and immediately rushes over to apologise for making a joke like that, pulling him into his chest and stroking his hair and cooing at him till he stops panicking.

everyone expects keith to joke about divorcing shiro when he tells terrible dad jokes, but there’s an unspoken agreement between mr. and mr. shirogane that there will never be any mention of leaving each other again, not after all they fought through to be together in the end.
