What a month!
Blocked since 7th March from contact with 8,453 of my friends and followers, and then the next day being included in the 100 "Shelist Impact Leaders 2026 Founding Cohort"!
The presentation happened last night and my heart was bursting with embarassed gratitude at being celebrated in the same room as the amazing women who's decisions and hard work has literally saved hundreds of lives, or changed the lives of so many others for the better, like Debbie Dixon BCAc and Sue France!
An award is about past achievements. Inclusion on a list feels like it's about the present and future too!
I don't feel "special". Things like cancer just happened to me and I reacted instinctively to make the best of the opportunities I could wrestle from it, rather than deciding to be "courageous" or "impactful".
Now I want to work hard to live up to the honour and opportunities so generously and unexpectedly given to me!
Thank you Gulnaz Brennan and SheInspires!
