THIS is why it’s so important for me to #SaveJessie and fight her meet-and-greet getting cut from the @waltdisneyworld parks. Look, I’m an adult - I know it’s someone in a costume. But see, that’s the thing. IT’S NOT. In that moment, it IS Jessie. It’s someone who you adore, who you see yourself in, and who’s been through the same struggles you have. And when she pulls you into one of her fierce hugs, all that matters is that she loves you back, and she understands - and it’s profound. THAT is the magic of Disney - and why it’s so important to have characters that speak to a wide range of people, not just princesses, available to meet guests in the parks. I'm still not coping well at all with the thought that Jessie's meet-and-greet could be cut at the Magic Kingdom as of October 1. This character means so much to me, for so many reasons - she's strong, and determined, and she doesn't let the sadness in her past dull her lively spirit, just to name a few. These are precisely the reasons girls need Jessie in the parks - not everyone relates to perfect princesses, or even Minnie or Tinkerbell - they need Jessie's cowgirl spunk as a counterpoint to the predominantly "girly" representation of female characters in the other meet-and-greets resort-wide.

Please, @waltdisneyworld, don't put Jessie into storage!!! If this is not just an internet rumor, and Jessie's meet-and-greet is in fact slated for cancellation, please reconsider your decision! She needs to remain accessible to fans, whether she stays at the Magic Kindgom or gets moved to Hollywood Studios with Buzz and Woody. Too often, Toy Story is reduced to only Buzz and Woody - but even the Green Army Men are out to greet guests! Jessie deserves to be included - and she deserves a daily meet-and-greet presence worthy of the beloved @disneypixar heroine she is. ❤️💛
