(Above [not to scale]: A Titan, two Commons, and a Tiny)
The Sheretsa live in the Great Desert, a desert near the center of the continent of Du'yushra. They are lizard-like in nature, with scales, claws, and long, floppy ears. There are three type of Sheretsa: Titans, Commons, and Shorties. Titans are very large and muscular (8-14ft), and serve as elite shock troops and generals in the Sheretsa army. Commons are the normal people, and fulfill a wide range of occupations from soldiers to bakers to mechanics. Shorties are the the smallest, at roughly 3-4ft, and are often seen doing odd jobs, such as sewing, tinkering, and woodwork. All Sheretsa have earthen-tone markings on their snouts and stomachs, and some Common Sheretsa are born with more colorful markings on their arms, legs, and torso. Sheretsa society is ruled by a Matriarch, and a Patriarch must marry into the royal bloodline. The current Matriarch is very slovenly and hedonistic, so the practical ruling falls to her sister, who is known as the Queen. Under the Queen’s rule, the Empire has made war with almost every major nearby state, with most of the fighting occurring against the United Republics and Elvish Empire. Both fronts are hard-fought, and many conscripted Sheretsa have died. Internal politics are generally non-existent. Nobles are as hedonistic as the Matriarch, so there are no real debates except for who to fuck or what to eat. The most notable loss of the Empire was the departure of one of its most decorated generals, who later took on the name King. He left due to a conflict of personality with the Queen, and a relatively large contingent of Sheretsa (hundreds) followed him in an exodus. It is the largest emigration from Sheretsa lands in history, and the Queen has been seeking King’s death ever since. For the most part, the Empire is not as especially bad place to live, but it is not great either. Sheretsa live their lives in daily work, and there are very few who do not perform some kind of menial labor. Literacy is extremely low, and the only active magic-user in the Empire is a court magician who works for the Queen. However, needless crackdowns and executions are very rare, and despite the atmosphere of toil the Empire is at peace with itself for now.
