The scent

Imagine how one day, John has to borrow one of his colleague’s deodorant because he ran out of his own. Sherlock comes home way after midnight and stops right in the doorframe, noticing the unknown smell in an instant. But this time, it’s not a women’s scent, no, this time, John apparently brought home another MAN. And Sherlock just rushes into his room and starts crying bitterly because it`s even worse to know that the love of his life is not only refusing him because John is straight. Sherlock is not wanted even though he belongs to John’s potential choice of partners. And it hurts. It hurts so much having the final proof that he, Sherlock, as a person is not good enough for John Watson. And all his insecurities and self-consciousness come up again because he lost his most beautiful daydream: that John, if he weren’t into women, would choose him without hesitating.

Just thinking about how pre-trf John was so ready to be soft and open and in love with Sherlock. Then Sherlock was so ready to be open to that softness and give it in return when he came back but by then John had just hardened himself and like they are always just out of step but they deserve to be soft with each other please just ALLOW THEM

do you ever just think about sherlock saying ‘alone is what i have alone protects me’ and like what a fucking revealing statement that is and how it was supposed to be some cold high fuctioning sociopath type line and john fucking falls for it but without even properly realising it sherlock has given away his own vulnerability with those words and just fuck me up like john hug the boy please
