How about Person of Interest for the tv ask thing?
Oh my god yes! Thank you!
my all-time ultimate fave character: (love of my life) Sameen Shaw
a character I didn’t used to like but now do: Definitely Fusco. I hated that poor man.
a character I used to like but now don’t: I’m not sure, POI never really had any “BETRAYAL!!” moments, the machine would have caught that, and none of the characters we written poorly to a point that I started to dislike them…
a character I’m indifferent about: Martine? Like, I know a lot of the Shoot fandom had a thing for her, but I mainly just wanted her dead.
a character who deserved better: I know that Root is probably the default answer here, but I’m not going to say that Root deserved better. Like, I would definitely have wanted her survive, but Person of Interest was never that show. Root died for something she cared about. For the people she cared about. And in a way she came back as a god, so I’m never going to fault the show for that. Maybe Carter? Let’s go with Carter.
a ship I’ve never been able to get into: John/anybody really.
a ship I’ve never been able to get over: Root x Shaw obvs. Never getting over them.
a cute, low-key ship: Does Shaw & Bear count? She loves that dog so much man.
an unpopular ship but I still enjoyed it: I got nothing
a ship that was totally wrong and never should have happened: John and that Psychologist Iris. That was a garbage plot line and completely unnecessary.
my favourite storyline/moment: There’s so many moments in POI that stand out to me and I adore, and a very large chunk of them are Machine related. I’m going to just go with my all time favourite quote from POI for this one though I think. It’s from when Harold is teaching The Machine chess in If-Then-Else. Besides that entire episode being probably the best one they ever produced, it also probably had the strongest impact on The Machine’s morality I think. “Chess is just a game. Real people are not pieces. You can’t assign more value to some and not others. Not to me. Not to anyone. People are not things that you can sacrifice. The lesson is, anyone who looks on the world as if it’s a game of chess deserves to lose.”
a storyline that never should have been written: That garbage waste of a “John” episode in the final season. I get that they wanted to go back to basics and give him a stand alone episode, but the season on had 13 episodes and that one took away from everything else.
my first thoughts on the show: Super boring procedural about two white dude.
my thoughts now: I adore this show. It was incredibly well written and spectacularly executed. It has moments and episodes that resonate with every fibre of my being and a realistic, grounded, and amazingly well done finale. A++
