The boundary break episode for Awakening was pretty great. Lots of cool details overall like how the brigand's model has player character level quality (👀 my gay ass if one of those was a playable character) Herons and duckies in the water areas of some maps, a buuuunch of cool Grima details and Arena Ferox having hidden models in the topmost bleachers that might be beta designs for the playable cast... lotsa fun stuff.
So I was watching an episode of the YouTube series Boundary Break, and learned a fun little tidbit.
So, in video games, a lot of times if an asset like a character is going to be used in a scene, they'll load it out of bounds ahead of time so it can just be warped into place at the required time. In the first Kingdom Hearts, before Cloud first appears at the Arena, he's out of bounds like this. But instead of being in any of the animation poses he actually uses in that scene, motherfucker is sitting and brooding.
For everyone that needed a close up on this one (like me)!
