Obito dropped his pack at the door carefully as he pulled himself into a slow stretch. After being away on a mission for months it was nice to finally be back home where he belongs.

“Naruko?” He called softly listening carefully for any noises that would help him locate the girl. She had become like his little sister. He had given her a key to his apartment just before he left. This way she would have somewhere safe to run if she needed to. “I’m home!” He greeted quietly. It wasn’t too late after all.

He stretched out his chakra finding hers in his room. Pushing the door open he chuckled softly. He was surprised she had missed him so much but then again he had been caring for her since her parents had died. Reaching out he stroked her head before pulling it away to let her sleep.

He gathered some clean clothes and using the bathroom in the hall, showered. He fell into the couch grabbing the blanket on the back and settled down to crash for a nap.

Obito helped teach Naruko how to speak his language, he also managed to figure out how to make a sound similar to the vowel of her name.

Obito and Naruko like to give each other random gifts they make for each other. Obito likes to gift her with gifts made of gems and pearls he finds in his little lake.

Once during an attack on the kingdom Obito tried to get to Naruko, if not for one of the very few servants that know of his presence whom carried him back to the lake he would have. Obito spend the next day and a half restlessly swimming around the lake until Naruko was brought to the lake. She actually camped there that night with guards because Obito freaked out every time she moved out of his hearing range.

Obito once found a cave system leading to the castle, he likes to randomly pop up in an indoor fountain. He scared the crap out of Naruko once. But he’s a common occurrence in the castle so no one minds much. He likes to give the children shell necklaces.

The merman squirmed in attempted to get away with a whine as he munched on his treat. Of course he had something on his face! He was eating! The blind man huffed before finally letting her cleaning his face.

Blind eyes blinked lightly as small arm wound around his waist and a face buried into his chest. He smiled gently and turned his head towards her. He grinned gently flickering water at her  with the tip of his tail a soft cooed note slipping from his lips. A question if she was alright.

"So uh... a friend of friend's birthday is today and that friend doesn't know what to get for their friend's birthday... could you help me out 'ttebayo?" //Look she's trying so hard.

Obito was silent, staring in the female’s direction before rising a forehead. A soft chuckle rumbled in his throat. He definitely knew she hadn’t gotten him a present. The man reached out ruffling the girl’s hair. “I don’t need any presents, Naru...Just a simple happy birthday will do kiddo.” He said softly with a warm smile.  “I’m not used to gifts.”

The merman’s head turned up hearing the sound of footprints coming towards his lake and a splash of water told him the female was there. A warm smile pulled to his lips before he swam up to greet her.

Knowing her dress was rather expensive and really wasn’t suppose to get wet he pull himself out of the water, careful not to let his tail get wet, and pressed a soft kiss to her forehead. A silent thank you for her being his friend and always been there for him. He tried to do the same for her.
