Can I ask you what you thought about the Chris/Rory Scene? I feel like she wanted a different answer. I loved that she asked him that question. I felt so bad that he didn't say "I'm sorry, I made a mistake , I was a kid." He seemed to put it more on Lorelai (which I was never very fond of him but that scene made me dislike him even more). And now i've seen a music video with Kelly Clarksons Piece by piece for Luke and Rory. And i"m like that scene in the revival should be in that video now.
The way I figure it, I would’ve preferred a Christopher/Rory scene over a Christopher interacting with Lorelai in any way, shape, or form
Now that we know what the final four words are, her little scene with Christopher makes a lot more sense to me. It was less about Rory asking for an apology for Christopher not being there in her life and more a sort of reassurance to herself, that she would be all right raising her child alone. I think you’re right, I think she did want a different answer–but that answer pertained what to what a part of her wanted with Logan. Logan was a pretty hard drug to quit, just like Christopher was a very hard drug for Lorelai to quit. I get the feeling that just like Christopher, or the idea of Christopher, interfered in every one of Lorelai’s relationships, so did Logan.
I think his point, “I think it happened the way it needed to happen” is pretty valid as a whole. It doesn’t make me respect him as a person, but considering how flaky Christopher was, how unreliable, and how attached Lorelai and Rory were–he might’ve done a lot more damage if he had tried to make a go of it with her. Christopher had a bad habit of hurting everyone around him so his distance may have been an unexpected gift.
