i'm rewatching phil's day 2 qsmp prison vod after watching missa's vod and i want to list a couple of things i noticed and just, really like

whenever qmissa's near qphil he always goes to stand next to him

whenever qmissa is away from qphil he often looks around for qphil often asking ¿dónde está Philza?

whenever qphil is near qmissa he often stares at him either directly or in f5

they both focus on each other whenever there's a crowd

qphil sprints out of any and all open doors like a bird flying through a slightly cracked open cage door (a menace /positive)

whenever qmissa is looking for qphil, qphil is almost always in either solitary confinement or trying to escape the prison

qmissa desperately trying to help with the spanish words during the language classes (him screaming hints at qphil)

quacki, just all of quacki (I JUST HEAD HER SAY "i like being with you" AT QPHIL PIPIPIPI :((( )

both the ways qphil and qmissa latch onto each other (qmissa standing by qphil's side, qphil staring at qmissa from a distance) are something you'll easily miss from the other's pov (qmissa often stands just a bit away from qphil's line of sight, qphil often stands further away or behind qmissa)

ghostbit was clearly visible in qmissa's pov multiple times but somehow he kept missing him

when quacki asks qphil if he'll go on a date with qmissa if she places down a trapdoor for him, he says "yeah- yeah i've- i've been on- i've been on- y'know- yeah" (can you tell what part of the vod i'm on rn) like hello?? sir??

the way qphil just, dips from confrontations with the guards like idk how to explain it but the way he just jumps into conversation after another escape attempt while the guards are still shooting at him is unparalleled

when I say canon, I don't mean we got everything we deserved. I mean, we weren't delusional when we rooted for a love story between a fallen angel and the righteous man, all these years. I mean I can now, no holds barred, claim that castiel is in love with dean winchester and that that is an integral part of supernatural. I mean I can now believe, way stronger than ever before, that it's only a matter of time until they're textually together, because I know dean's in love with him too, and I can finally picture him actually saying it on screen. I mean, a relationship that's mattered a lot to me for a really long time, was finally romantically acknowledged, and I mean, I'm holding onto it, and I'm holding onto hope.

having a pretty stressful morning so miiiight do a small spam this afternoon to cheer myself up with.

we found out my mom has cancer this morning so i might be a bit quieter than usual in the coming days while we do what we can to hopefully get a handle on all this.

god i can’t stop thinking about how the (core) death family really is such a well fitting puzzle that when even one piece js gone it shows and affects the rest :(

like the death family is incomplete without qmissa, he carries such a huge role in the emotional wellbeing of things, he shines were qphil lacks; the death family is incomplete without qphil, the man consistently keeping the kids alive and fed, he can keep the kids alive but he struggles with the things beyond it, things beyond mere survival; and the kids, we saw how thoroughly their absence affected qphil and qmissa, how tallulah sleeping alone at her old home made the bunker feel so empty and incomplete, how without chayanne this little family would’ve never been formed in the first place. they all fulfill roles that no one else can perform in their place, tallulah and qmissa carry the artistic side and emotional knowledge of the family, qphil and chayanne carry the survivalist aspect of the family with experience and cooking. the family has had to adapt to the absence of members in the past, especially when the kids disappeared, and the toll it takes shows so clearly every time. they are only truly complete with each other, they are a family with so many troubles and ailments that could so easily be fixed by just them all being present, and yet they’re cursed to always miss one. they are always stuck adapting and filling roles to make up for an absence, and crumbling under the pressure each time

i can’t stop thinking about how well bolas rojas has adapted to the conditions of purgatory. they embrace whatever suffering and lack of materials they have, they cheer for certain disasters (mainly the fog), they further embrace their insanity, laugh at their lack of mental wellbeing, they physically fight each other and die for fun. they invite the poor conditions like they weren’t missing luxuries like op backpacks and castles a few days ago. they truly embody the hellscape they’re trapped in because they were so utterly stomped to the ground from the start that they have embraced the mud as their new home.

so actually to correct my first point of this post, they haven’t adapted to the conditions of purgatory, they were reborn, created and molded from the flames of it.

as much as i like the ending of the eggs hatching and leaving to explore, i do want to add something extra to death family:

chayanne and lullah hatch and qphil teaches them all he can about flying. once the siblings want to travel and explore the world, they insist on bringing their dads along! qphil refuses and insists on staying behind because he can’t fly, he’ll just be deadweight, but chayanne and lullah stand their ground. they brainstrom ways of bringing their dads along without having to carry them through all their flights, and maybe lullah gives her phoenix to qphil, so that he can fly right beside them. and as long as qmissa is asleep, qphil can drag him along in his backpack until they come up with something better for when he wakes up.

and so they’re off! together. and maybe in the future if the parents decide to stop by quesadilla island again? a quick pitstop to catch up with friends is just another part of the journey. a short pitstop before they head off again, to traverse the world, as free as a bird! and dragons and a skeleton unbound by death!
