i was earlier this year trying to think of wc characters that would fit a song i wanted to animate, where a female character mourns the death of their (male) mate, and thats when i realised there is just. not something that happens often with the important characters in the series

there are so many female characters that die to further a male characters arc, and its really upsetting? some examples;

spottedleaf, silverstream, graypool, brindleface, snowfur, willowbreeze, feathertail, russetfur (sort of), honeyfern, sandstorm (sort of), and more (probably some from DOTC, but i havent read them yet)

the only male character i can think of who died to further female characters however, is stemleaf. maybe appledusk too if he counts. 🤔 this is (sadly) obviously not just a warrior cats thing, and is a whole trope on its own, but i still find it so upsetting when theres like 900+ characters and so many arcs now
