Shia Imams Council of Victoria Inc. gives importance to education. Providing educational assistance to disadvantaged and marginalised young people under the age of 21 years. Birth Anniversary of Prophet (SAWW) and Imam Jafar-e Sadiq (AS) - Shia Imams Council of Victoria Inc.

On behalf of the Shia Imams Council of Victoria Inc., we would like to reiterate the message of our prophet (SAWW) where he emphasised the measures to ensure community unity, harmony, and peace beyond the boundaries of cultural background. On the auspicious and blessed occasion of Prophet Muhammad (SAWW) and Imam Jafar-e-Sadiq (AS)’s birthday, we would like to express gratitude to Imam of our time (AJTF) and to all the Muslim community of Australia.

Migrants/Refugees - Shia Imams Council of Victoria Inc.

Shia Imams Council of Victoria have the support of community volunteers but does not have enough funding to provide adequate facilities and resources required by new migrants and refugees. The Council also provides an interpreter service for people with no or little English language knowledge.

Pilgrimage/Religious tours - Shia Imams Council of Victoria Inc.

Millions of Shia Muslims visit these holy places every year from all parts of the world, including Australia. Such visits have also generated more opportunities for travel and tourism businesses in Australia and overseas. Often, groups of Shia Muslims travel together under the leadership of a local scholar (Imam) to facilitate the smooth execution of prayers and supplications to Allah at these holy places. The Shia Imams Council of Victoria facilitates such religious tours for Shia Muslims by providing guidance and information about coordination, travel, accommodation, local assistance, and religious matters.

Scholars Team - Shia Imams Council of Victoria Inc.

Maulana Syed Abul Qasim Rizvi is the founder President of Shia Imams Council of Victoria Inc. He has served as the Resident Scholar (Imam) of three different Shia Muslim organisations in Australia. Maulana Rizvi has contributed extensively in alleviating socio-religious issues of Shia Muslim Community through continued active participation with inter-faith groups.

Full time Private Schools | Shia Imams Council of Victoria Inc.

At this stage, there are a couple of not-for-profit organizations, which have been working on full- time school projects. Shia Imams Council of Victoria Inc. supports these organizations. The council will arrange a meeting with the concerned government department to get their help as needed.

Shia Muslims? - Shia Imams Council of Victoria Inc.

Shia Muslims are also very much attached spiritually to the life history of these Holy Ahlulbayt and they observe the birth and death anniversaries of each of them as an important part of their religious life in order to seek lessons and guidance from their lives and continually apply to improve their own lives. They especially observe the martyrdom of Imam Hussain every year in the Holy month of Moharram with great fervour and emotion as a period of mourning to remember the Great Sacrifice by Imam Hussain.

Who is Hussain? - Shia Imams Council of Victoria Inc.

Imam Hussain (a.s), the grandson of Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), also known as Abu Abdullah and Sayyid al-Shuhada' (Lord of martyrs), was the third Divine leader (Holy Imam) of Shia Muslims. Imam Hussain (a.s.) gave everything he had for the dignity of his society in the face of corruption – forever changing the course of history.
