Hondashi my shiba :) She's a slightly modified Milo shiba inu, from Jellycat.

I swapped her eyes, trimmed the fur around her eyes and muzzle, and used threadsculpting and ladderstitches to make her nose shorter and more upward pointing.

And I made her a bandana!

Here she was when I got her, May of 2021! Still very cute. She called to me in the store, but her personality was shy and hiding behind fluff. I knew that with a little bit of work, I could bring her out :)

Doggust 2023 -Day: 5 -Breed: Shiba Inu -Name: Dusty -Story: Dusty is a van pup and travels with their owner all around the country while staying at different state parks. They are highly curious and full of puppy energy. From seagulls to squirrels to bear cubs, Dusty makes friends with just about any animal. (Much to the surprise of their owner, who does NOT want bears coming to the campsite.)

This year for Doggust I am making one dog character a day (or reviving an old character) from the official Doggust prompts. Dogs have always been one of my biggest inspirations. From the vastness of the breeds, the expressive features and their amazing antics, they are the perfect subject to draw as a cartoon! Pet portrait commissions are open!
