"Toh! Pyon~! Blazing soul, thundering heart, mind sharp as ice! A soldier of truth and ideals! Kaiketsu Mashin... Shibuyan!"
快傑魔進シブヤン (Extraordinarily Advanced Demon Shibuyan)
This was a popular show in the Unova Region, I used to watch it all the time as a kid! It followed the adventures of a Wild West-style drifter named Shiyo, who would wander from town to town in search of her grandfather, a scientist of the shady organization Absolution. Those guys had a whole host of scary mutant cyborg demons themed after Pokémon that could be found in Unova, and Shibuyan was supposed to be one of their generals. ...she didn't agree with the whole "subjugate and farm humans and Pokémon for food and slavery" thing though, so now she's fighting against them with her Lopunny-like agility and super strong martial arts!
Of course, the real draw for the producers was the chance to film all of Unova's historical locations for the rest of the world to gawk at in collaboration with our tourism industry. They explored places the lay person might've known zilch about; Ambiga Town, Roshan City, the Village of Dragons, Milos Island, the Kingdom of the Vale... Even a Blueberry Academy special, can you believe it? Think that's why it was legally considered educational.
About halfway on in the show's run, they gave her a Mega form. Was it just a tactic to sell toys? Maybe. But you tell me that Shibuyan willfully embracing her monstrous heritage and helping her "siblings" turn against their abusive precursors in spite of the things they've done, making the image of a big stupid bunny something for them to fear- like, that isn't cool? Liar.
Yotsuba Takaiwa was one of the hottest stars expanded basic cable ever had. Did all her own stunts, perfectly guided her Pokémon co-stars, tackled every scene with a theatrical commitment only matched by overpaid prestige actors, even kicking ass on the international stage. One might even say she was on top of the world! ...well, she was until a certain incident occurred... this stupid little Tumblr post isn't the place to tell you about that though.
