Just a drabble Inspired (link to full scene) by this scene in ch 107 because it’s SHICCA!!!
I scream in my head with eyes squeezed shut against the g-forces. This man! Just rocketing into the sky. Oh my goodness! It’s not just the fear coursing through my body, but to be... so close... held tightly against his solid frame. I know I have nothing to be scared of. Shiki would never let me fall.
Stop it, Rebecca! Shiki is your friend, he knows nothing else. But I can’t stop my heart from racing or the exhilaration of pretending... that I’m special to him. My face feels so warm. It was the wind burn, I tell myself. Not the emotions he stirs inside of me when we’re too close.
“There! See!”
I turn my head slowly, away from the heat of his bare skin. My lips curve down, not ready to let go of the warmth. Could I stay wrapped in his arms forever? Then my eyes adjust and widen at the magical scene Shiki has given me. I gasp.
“It’s beautiful.”
“Yeah.”
“Like it’s raining stars!”
The falling light ether is so amazing! This whole experience is more than I could have ever dreamed of, but sharing it with someone special and filming it will ensure a lasting memory for all to see. Suck it, Labila, I chuckle in my head.
I beam brighter than the sun and my eyes sparkle just like these liquid stars. A precious snap shot in time with my demon king... My heart races, oh Mother, am I falling too?

Cold wasn’t something Rebecca associated with Shiki. At least not personality wise. Many times, he’d huddle close complaining the ship was too cold. She didn’t know if it was an excuse to be close or if it’s a genuine complaint. A bit of both seemed logical.
Drip. Drip.
Not even the healing warmth of the bath elicited a response. Black hair clung to his face, pudgy cheeks retaining a boyish charm to his transitioning appearance. Shiki is a boy becoming a man, the adventurer, the unlikely warrior. Sighing, Rebecca shifted the dead weight in her arms, allowing his ear to rest against her chest. If anything could wake him it would be the thumping of her heart. Shivers swept across her skin. Saturated clothes didn’t help the chill settling in her bones. A hollow laugh escaping her cracked lips Rebecca couldn’t help but feel the situation was bittersweet. She had met someone else other than Happy who believed in her.
Her.
Rebecca the street rat, the rejected, the fuck up.
It’s why she couldn’t stand people treating Shiki like trash. Laughing at his optimism, at his lust for adventure and life. An innocence she envied and the same longing she had wished for since her days on the streets. She never wanted to search through dustbins because of aching muscles and her stomach churning with hunger. The kind of desperation that eroded her spirit each day.
Rebecca knew nothing came for free. A survivor fought for every scrap. Life had never shown her anything different until Shiki.
Drip. Drip.
Blank eyes stared up at the stars, eyelids drooping. Shiki had pushed himself beyond his limits to save her. His ether gear glowing on black skin, it never receded after the battle. He seemed to be in a trance, not responding to anyone, including a snarky remark from Weisz.
Shiki protected her without question or thought. It bothered her because she wasn’t sure where his devotion came from. Could she trust him? It wasn’t guaranteed he’d stick around. How could someone so kind, optimistic and loving want to be her friend? Maybe he’d realise she was a fascination. Simply the first human he’d ever met.
No one had truly accepted her.
Deep down, Rebecca admittedly wanted him to stay in her life. The man who’d welcomed her dreams and aspirations without question, even encouraging a wish for more than stardom. Shiki believed she could stand in the centre of the Galaxy, with Mother herself.
Did she dare to believe in him?
“Afterall, you’re not here to be my friend now.” She whispered, wondering whether the stars would answer her prayers. Shiki wouldn’t be the second friend who died in her arms. She’d force him to wake up and make him play back to back FPS games so she could shoot his ass.
“Do humans…” Gasping, Rebecca snapped out of rumination and focused on the man resting against her. His gaze directed down her top as he spoke. “…usually mumble to themselves?”
Teeth grinding, she gripped his arm and unceremoniously flipped him into the water.
“Yes. When we mumble it’s about how you’re an I-D-I-O-T.” He wouldn’t be finding out today that despite his immaturity, she didn’t mind - as long as he stayed by her side. She didn’t want to lose another friend.

I haven’t written anything for a while so I feel I’d do this to get into the swing of things. I heard this song and thought of Shicca, so why not write my first little fic for them. Sorry for any mistakes, I’ll look over it later. Too tired right now :D
Dedicated to @brokenangelwings83 because she always supports my fanfic writing attempts. She’s a star xxx
Just a quick Drabble in between homework since I'm strapped for time. *Spoiler warning
"Noooooo!!!!" The shot rings out hard and true, deafening against the metal walls of the chamber they were in. Sullen gasps of disbelief magnetized by the incessant cackles of the offenders, echo as white noise in her ears. She couldn't believe what she was seeing... falling... falling... backwards, the blood spray, the color of red in a black and white image... "Shiki!!!!"
"Shiki!!!!!"
Rebecca's screams wake her. She pops up in her safe bed, shivering with a sheen of sweat covering her body. It was another nightmare, the same one that has plagued her since that day... A long exhale is released as if all the air in her lungs had been on hold for some time. She pulls the blankets up closer, tighter around her body to shield herself from an experience she wished her time leaping abilities had stripped away.
Why was she still having this damn nightmare?! They fixed the future. They were safe now from Draken's clutches and yet the idea of Shiki's death still plagued her.
She knew why. It was the very reason that triggered her time leap in the first place. Rebecca couldn't bear the thought of losing anyone she cared about, but with Shiki.... Shiki was different. Losing him had felt like a part of her was torn away never to be replaced again. And that hurt more than anything else she'd ever felt.
There's a knock at her bedroom door. It cracks open revealing a sliver of light from the corridor, and she sees the shadowy frame of spiked hair peak inside.
"Did you call for me?"
It was just Shiki. Rebecca sigh's, "I'm sorry if I woke you, it was just another nightmare. I'll be okay."
But that answer wasn't good enough for the man who'd become strangely protective of her lately. He didn't like seeing her upset. It made him feel powerless, useless in shielding someone he cared deeply about from harm. Without prompting, Shiki steps all the way inside and closes the door behind him, bathing them in darkness. By sheer memory he navigates his way over and sits on the side of Rebecca's bed.
"You're not okay, and I'm staying at least until you fall asleep again."
She didn't want to admit it, but having him physically there did make her feel better, as if confirming that yes, he was alive and well. "Alright," she sighs, knowing it would be fruitless to argue.
He prompts her to lay back, even helping to re-tuck the blankets around her. Once settled, Shiki lies down as well with a small space between them. He places a hand on her arm just to give her a physical reminder that he was there. "Go to sleep, Becca."
The intimate nature they were in should have made her embarrassed, but with the nightmare still fresh in her mind, she figured it couldn't hurt to let him help. And the thought did bring a warmth to her heart at how caring he was with her. She doubted he would do the same for any of the others. "Good night Shiki... and thank you."
"Yeah, no problem," he responds with a nonchalant tone. But as he watches her eyes close, he can't help but smile knowingly. There wasn't anything he wouldn't do for this woman...
