Tomorrow night, help me welcome, SPENCE of AUSTIN BOOGIE CREW. I really dig his flow and song choice - one of the first things I noticed when we played together for the first time.
SPENCE BIO
Spence is a DJ from Austin with over a decade of experience behind the turntables. After early starts in Texas, Spence began deejaying in local clubs and at KJHK 90.7FM radio in Lawrence, Kansas. Upon returning to Austin, he founded the Austin Boogie Crew, a record label and artist collective specializing in eighties boogie and modern funk. Spence currently hosts “The Boogie” at Vinyl in downtown Austin, a boogie and modern funk party. As a part of Austin Boogie Crew he has shared stages with artists like George Clinton and Dam-Funk. Recently Spence helped organize a modern funk showcase during South By Southwest and embarked on tours of Japan and the West Coast. As a DJ, Spence combines a variety of sounds with a smooth approach. Boogie, disco, hip-hop, jazz-funk, soul, and electronic records make up his collection, amassed over the years for dance floors across the globe.
