I was looking for a thoroughly over-the-top luxury house in the general Seattle area to serve as inspiration for the mansion I’m writing about in a story I’m working on, and HAVE I EVER FOUND MY HOUSE.
It doesn’t look completely cray from the outside.
More than a little on the ostentatious side, but not as wildly OTT as the inside turns out to be.
BECAUSE LOOK AT THIS PLACE.
Is that an ornamental piano stationed above the foyer? WHY YES IT IS!
Every staircase needs some 12-foot palm trees!
Also taxidermied owls? eagles? flying around up top. FOR REASONS.
The home theater system is an ACTUAL THEATER.
There are 7 bedrooms and 11 bathrooms, including this one with a fireplace.
Pretty sure that bay window has a tree living in it.
So, yeah, this house is precisely on the correct side of WTF for what I’m writing about, and I am totally going to put my characters in it, or I should say in a fictional house which is in no way this one.
