The pain in his eyes š° He trusted his friend⦠I really donāt understand how Boruto could have thought of Shikadai when he was telling himself he needed to win for his village and friends during his fight with Shinki⦠His memories of Shikadaiā¦how could he, after he himself had disgraced Shikadai in such a way by fighting unfairly when they had declared theyād have a fair matchā¦then use memories about the loyal friend heād disgraced to be motivated during his fight against Shinkiā¦? I understand Boruto is a kid going through a lot of learning and facing his own challenges and things he needs to overcomeā¦.but itās hard to sympathize with someone who lacks so much conscience and who doesnāt feel the least bit ashamed for not just cheatingā¦but breaking a pact with one of his best friends. He didnāt show any care or concern for Shikadai. What kind of personā¦what kind of āfriendā does that? How betrayed he made him feelā¦how much undeserved trust his friend had in him⦠Their literal words to each other, ālets do this fair and square.ā Honestly, that pure heart break in his eyesā¦itās almost too much to look at. Thinking back to everything Shikadai felt between the end of his fight with Boruto, to the revelation of what Boruto had done⦠How hard heād been on himselfā¦how much hurt he had felt after his lossā¦his asking Moegi Sensei if they were lacking somethingā¦his trying to not be depressed about thingsā¦all those thoughts are probably flooding his minds at once when the revelation that Boruto cheated is made, along with othersā¦ā¦memories of the type of friendship he thought he had with Boruto up to that momentā¦the disbelief about how one of the people he considered his closest friendsā¦one of the people he had trusted the mostā¦could have done something like that to himā¦to their friendshipā¦To their bondā¦without a guilty conscience.
Can this friendship ever be truly repaired? What do you guys think? Iād love to hear what you all have to say.
***I should explain that when I am talking about how Boruto isnāt showing a conscience about cheating or feeling any guilt/shame, I am referring to before he gets caught in the act. He is not thinking about how his actions are disrespectful to those he says he cares about. Specifically , I am referring to how he is able to flashback on memories of his friends to push forth in his battle after Shinki makes disrespectful comments about the Leaf, when as we know, Boruto has been showing the same thing to everyone in a different way. Yes, I do acknowledge that Boruto feels guilt and shame in the end...and that he gets caught in a very humiliating way too at that, which I do feel for, but once again, I was focusing more on his attitude before that happens. Thanks for what you pointed out @stardumb17 ***
