the throng of bodies on the floor of the club makes it a little warmer in the place that ophelia would like; it’s packed with people dancing, talking, making more and more heat, but the alcohol she’d imbibed earlier wasn’t doing anything to help cool her down. having briefly escaped the crowd, she makes her way to the bar, taking her hair out of the ponytail it’d been tossed up in on the floor to keep it off her neck. once there’s a fresh drink in her hand and two heart shaped pills in her pocket, she examines the floor, trying to pick out once face among the flashing lights and dark atmosphere.
shiloh is the first person she’s recognizes and, knocking back her drink, she goes out to the floor to make her way over to her friend. she can hear some of the thoughts of the people around her, a headache she’d more or less gotten under control, except for when she drank. that’s hot, one voices says. another goes aw, shit, now the music is getting good. they can go on, but before it goes any further, because one her control slips, it’s basically over for ophelia, she has her hands cupping shiloh’s jaw, having slid up from her waist while they were dancing. needing a distraction, and perhaps being a little drunk and not thinking clearly, she closes the gap and kisses her. it’s enough to shut the voices in her head up, enough for her to not want to pull back right away either. but when it breaks, she whispers against her lips, “sorry. i shoulda asked.” / @eushiloh
