Once again I've underestimated how much shipping fuel there can be. I was replaying Paradise to watch specific scenes over again, the part when Uchimura is suspected of being murdered, Shimada's disappearance, finding Shimada and Hongou trying to kill Azuma. I was actually watching it for Takara's reactions but I didn't realise how much Hongou was down bad for Shimada. They hang out together and stand beside each other a lot, Hongou gets really mad and glares at Azuma and Mitsugi for not caring about his disappearance. It might not sound like much but he's usually so composed, he almost never gets angry even passive aggressively. When he finds Azuma with Shimada's corpse, Hongou goes crazy and screams at him for killing Shimada and tries to kill him, crying all the while. And that's just in a couple of moments of Mitsugi's route. There's also the fact that in the true ending, he and Shimada run away together! They're living together, probably hiding out in hotel rooms together!!

Ohh. That's why he couldn't get it up for Azuma, because he actually really wanted to fuck Shimada!
