Week in review - 03/02/18
I got a year older and ate a burrito. Also more bike content.
So this week saw me turning the ripe old age of 25. I can’t say I feel any older or any different, although there is an overall sense of positivity towards life in general. Perhaps I’m just growing more accepting of the fact that 25 is still actually really young, ridiculously young in fact.
So for my birthday we went to Taco Bill in Pakenham. I had a burrito and it was glorious. Rebecca had fajitas, which looked delicious. We then went home, had a cup of tea and some cake and I opened my gifts.
Other than getting older it was a relatively hum drum week. There’s no trains running at the moment due to the level crossing works which is a bit annoying as it means I have to wake up earlier and drive to a train station a little further away. I much prefer being able to ride my bicycle to the Bunyip IGA, lock it up and then wander across to the train station.
Speaking of bicycles, I managed to score what was potentially the bargain of the century. It’s some mid 90′s polished aluminum road bike with 8-speed 105-SC groupset (with STI shifters!), also has 105 hubs laced to Mavic CXP30 rims, a Dura Ace seatpost and Cinelli drop bars. Most of those are far too nice components for me so i’ll strip the frame, sell all the good bits and re-construct it with stuff from my parts bin, most likely Shimergo 1x8 setup. I’ll post photos when I do, it should look nice with some love.
Anyway, that’s enough about bikes that no-one cares about. Ciao ciao.
