(How can you do this to me LOL… You know I’ll just do them all for everything bc AAARGH!!!)
★ - sad headcanon
Itachi: Itachi disliked rain a whole lot before joining Akatsuki and literally being forced to surveillance through rain. He always felt like rain was a thing to cover the horror, cover the sorrow, wash it away, while all the images of corpses were still terribly vivid in his mind. Rain didn’t wash anything away and he utterly wanted to forget. He wanted to find solace somewhere, and didn’t understand how rain could help, beside always reminding him of that battlefield. If there was rain, someone was dying somewhere, probably in a brutal manner.
Shisui: Shisui feels insecure about his own abilities, while he is good he isn’t confident that he’s good enough, or deserves any kind of praise, even if he sometimes seems confident enough. However through Itachi he managed to harbor a sense of pride: he managed to be the mentor of a kid that everyone praises, he managed to teach a boy that will become an outstanding shinobi. He basically left a legacy, something he felt he would never do because he wasn’t of such a caliber to do so. So at the end he entrusts everything to Itachi: the clan, his precious eyes, his life which would become Itachi’s mangekyo.
Nagato: Nagato, eaten by the guilt of Yahiko’s death and his own uselessness has in no few number of times starved himself to the point of passing out. His condition is as much caused by the Gedo Mazou, which keeps sucking out his chakra out, leaving the body almost barren of energy, as it is caused by Nagato torturing himself for the sins he committed. Beside starvation, he has cut, stabbed and injured himself, predominantly in the years following up to Yahiko’s death somewhere up to his mid 20′s, where his mentality has changed slightly.
✿ - Sex headcanon
Itachi: Definitely power bottom and quite a teaser about it. He loves to be pleasured as much as he loves pleasuring, however he’s up for a fight in the sheets as it is intellect (aka how one uses their brain) as a big turn-on. Itachi’s moans might come with snarky remarks or talk: stimulate the brain and the body all the same. Sex challenges work well with him since he has something to put his mind to work on.
Shisui: There is a high possibility Shisui masturbates to the through of the person he loves/has a crush on. And he’s quite the adept of edging: pushing himself up to the point of cumming, but just not yet (In fact if you combine Shisui’s need for edging and Itachi’s teasing you might actually get 5 minute sex turn into a half an hour sort of thing.) There are times, especially when he tried to get his mind of things that he’ll combine pain and pleasure: rough biting and scratching will turn him right on.
Nagato: Related to the previous headcanon, there was a point where he phisically and mentally couldn’t take the pain he was putting himself through, injuring one self slowly became a way of releasing himself. With time he started to associate this releasing pain with something pleasurable, and utltimately the sight of blood became a turn on. It is a turn on especially when he sees others bleeding since his combined compulsive will to protect and help those in need, (comfort them and, in a sense this way, comforting himself too) and his hematolagnia forms an attraction he tries to keep under harness. The more he knows that person and the more he cares about them the bigger the attraction.
♦ - quirks/hobbies headcanon
Itachi: Itachi absolutely loves forests and nature in general. A ideal afternoon for him would be spending it in a quiet secluded corner with greenery, alone or with a close friend, someone he can leisure talk to or engage in deep conversations about the meaning of life. Tea or sweets help a lot too.
Shisui: Reading or training, things that have to do with bettering himself. He actually enjoys poetry a whole lot and might occasionally use it in social contexts. Most of the books he has are about politics and history of his own and other villages, he wants to be versed in the background of his country and others so he can asses and take a decision that will cause minimal damage and the desired effect. When training he often opts for blindfolding himself so if there’s a hypothetical situation in which he looses his eyes he’ll still be able to put up a fight.
Nagato: Nagato is curious by nature, some of his favorite activities were studying and training: knowing others, knowing more in order to understand the others better and protect the ones around him. However since the Mazou incident, training and any sort of stressful physical activities were taken away from him. As an adult he loves talking with people, especially those who tune in with him and have an interesting opinion or strong points in their arguments. He thinks everything is subject to change as long as it is presented to it.
"I can't believe I listened to you and postponed getting a gift till today." He was pissed, bet he was trying to keep collected for the sake of the day's significance.
It was their anniversary.Three years anniversary.
On one hand he was bewielded so much time has passed since the three of them moved in the same house. And life had many things in store for them just yet... This particular year was a heavy one. Nagato recently discovered he had nervous problems in his legs - some damaged synapses or neurons, he wasn't quite sure himself. However he needed lots of rest and there was the possibility that under stress, the man would be ridden in a wheel-chair. The Uzumaki insisted they buy one already so he'll get used to it, thinking it would be inevitable. And Itachi wanted to make today's anniversary big.
Nagato has already booked a table at the Uchiha's favorite restaurant. Him and Shisui used to go there when younger. And he bought them extremely well tailored suits to match the grand significance of the occasion too. While they bought nothing. And if there was someone who should be enjoying themselves it was Nagato.
Hearing his fellow Uchiha's words Shisui bowed his head, glancing sideways at Itachi: "We can still make up to it. And because we bought it today we'll have the element of surprise up our sleeves."
"I didn't say it was an entirely bad idea, it's just- Beside where do we even begin to think of a gift if we haven't for this long."
"You overthink things. Why am I here to help you?" A grin spread on the curly haired brunet's expression.
Itachi widened his eyes and then frowned. He almost wanted to smack him. He had something in his mind all this time and he lured his lover right in: "Alright. Now say that brilliant idea."
"What makes for a durable thing that is sure to put a smile on Nagato's face each day? It has four legs and technically a soul."
"You're intending to buy him a pet?"
"Pets. You don't have a gift remember? One from me, one from you."
"Can we manage? An animal is quite a hassle."
"We're three!" And with that Shisui put an arm around his long haired friend. But Itachi was still taken aback by the aproach on this subject.
"You could have told me earlier." he bellowed. But soon enough he pulled away from the Uchiha's arms and fastened his walk: "However there is no time to waste now."
And in that moment he felt truly grateful Kisame, currently worked at a large pet store in the town center. Shisui seemed very proud of his deed, while Itachi tried to think what kind of pet would please the third person properly. A cat? Nagato wasn't a cat person. Birds? There was already a flock of crows stalking their house and bringing them pins and buttons and other sort of trinkets because Itachi kept feeding them. Shisui once mentioned that if they kept this up their house will be soon a big crow's nest and they'll have to bottle-feed little crow chicks. And with this trip now to the pet-shop they were one step further to creating a zoo. And yet what? A dog? Dogs. Dogs! He loved dogs!
Kisame greeted them with a toothy green upon entering. They needed no guidance in finding the puppy filled pen, however the large tattooed man stood by their side, eyebrows cocked in delight: "Gonna buy him a puppy?"
"Two." Shisui announced proudly.
"How expensive is one?" Itachi asked right away. Money won't be a problem but he needed to know because he couldn't rely on the clan's inheritance forever.
"Depends on the breed." Hoshigaki replied seriously. "The small ones are around 900$ and the bigger guys can reach 3000$. Well there are guys in specifically bred and they're just sooo expensive, ya know."
Shisui was already down checking the furry balls of fluff out and the dogs all seemed to seek the guy's attention. There were still a couple in the back that were fighting restlessly. There was a reddish-brown colored puppy that jumped around frantically: "How about this one, 'tachi? Looks like Nagato."
"And acts just like you." Itachi completed just as the puppy tumbled down, eventually falling on his nose, but jumping straight back up.
"And we're going to name him Nagashi." Kisame snorted at that one and the other Uchiha couldn't even find the strength to retort.
Looking around at the pen, one of the fighting pups, a rather large one with an brilliant dark coat and almost yellow orbs caught Itachi's eye. He liked that one, however it looked aggressive. A clank got all three men's attention as one grey puppy had it's teeth locked on the pen's locket, trying to escape.
Kisame almost bent down to settle the rascal but didn't and smiled: "You should get that one too, she's fierce and smart and I think she'll be suited with guys like you. After all you're sophisticated guys."
Itachi bent down to look at the pet in cause and she looked back up, barked then returned to chew on the locket, a sort of way to say: 'help me out will ya?' A smile formed on his face. She was pretty bold and seemed to think things other dogs would be oblivious to, in addition her eyes were gorgeous, heterochromia, and giving away her ambition spirit.
"We'll take these two." Itachi finally said. There was something definitely calming about seeing puppies, and especially knowing one, or in this case two, would eventually be yours. The long haired brunet glanced in the back at the still wrestling black puppy.
And with this said Kisame made his way to the counter, bending down to search for something behind it and returning with the small key. When the clicking of the lock gave away that the door of the pen was about to be opened, the large, dark pup suddenly stopped, fully alert in the direction of the noise. He wanted to make a dash for the door, before the pet store worker could close it, but the other puppy, whom he was wrestling with, clenched his jaws around his paw dragging him down and stopping the action. A growl from the almost wolf-looking dog as he bit back one more time, before running to the pen door, which now stood closed before it.
"You not gonna get out without behaving properly, Wolfie." Kisame mussed with the two chosen pups in his arms.
"Wolfie?" Shisui wondered aloud. "Is it part wolf?"
"Yup. A woman gave him up from a litter of 4 half wolf pups. He doesn't like it here, alright."
Itachi was already at the counter, ready to pay for the little guys, but suddenly enough a heart-piercing cry echoed in the store. And even if the three tried to complete the adoption formalities the loud whimpering won't stop. Until one of them inevitably asked what was going on.
"Miss Grey here has a sister from the same litter. She's far shier and now she probably found herself alone and she's scared. Happened a few times really." Kisame said, bringing up the adoption papers and writing down the price, breed of the dog and the rest. Itachi now had his intuition confirmed the puppies were huskies, 3 months old, and were rather pricey: 2000$ each.
"Add a medium size dog bed to the paycheck." the long haired Uchiha said.
"And the crying puppy." completed the curly haired.
"No." came the stark answer from his lover. "Two puppies are enough."
"Have you heard the way she's crying? We're breaking her heart."
In fact Shisui meant it was breaking his heart. And it wasn't that Itachi was insensible to this, however he tried to hold the more logical approach on the matter. Could they manage having three big dogs? They were still rather busy people... Shisui was unemployed for now, yes, and even if Nagato was earning quite a sum, would they be able to pay for the medical treatment if it ever came down to that...
Kisame pulled out another adoption sheet, cocking an eyebrow, waiting for a final decision. There were already some people going in there trying to see what the ruckus was about. And then the pet cage suddenly rattled, again and again. The grey pup was trying to push her way out of the cage seeing this was no good and he sister couldn't stop crying. Then when she saw it as futile she started to bark insistently. The cry stopped.
"See, Itachi. It's like trying to pull you apart from Sasuke." the curly haired Uchiha mentioned.
Was he guilt-tripping him? That was how low Shisui has sunken? He gave a deep sigh as there seemed to be no turning back from this; whenever this man had something in his mind there was no turning back. That's how they became friends in the first place. Itachi simply nodded to Kisame continue filling the paper. Their muscly tattooed friend motioned to a lady presenting some puppies to the rest of people bring the little crybaby to the counter as well.
There was slight shock on her face, because indeed they were crazy buying three dogs at once. She didn't comment however and she went in to pick the puppy up: she was a creamy-white puff-ball and he could almost hear Shisui's excitement: he had a dog just like that in his childhood. He named it Shiro and it was the pride and joy of that boy. Naturally Itachi smiled as well: he was happy too, just a bit worried that they will become problematic on the long run.
But just as the pen door opened up again the black pup bolted out: it was tall enough to jump over the remaining fence and the people, too surprised by the action, didn't stop it. The wolf dog then ran along the aisle and Kisame was forced to get around the counter to solve the mess, however the animal seemed to know him and didn't want to go back to the pen.
Itachi still felt like that particular dog was meant to be theirs:
"Kisame, don't put him back, bring him here."
"Look who's buying another one." Shisui snickered and ended having his boyfriend's elbow jolted in his his shoulder, however this time he was smiling.
Fuck it. They were already in a mess and an extra, half wolf dog, won't make too much of a difference. He- they will enjoy the moment. It was their anniversary and he thought he was overthinking things a bit.
"Look, we've got ourselves some Fantastic Four!" the older Uchiha chuckled.
II
Itachi called him to meet up in the nearby park, saying he had a surprise for him. He was caught up in a conference when he received the call, but he was finished after some good 20 minutes in which his heart grew with excitement.
Not only did the man's voice sound utterly happy through the conversation but the meeting was in a place that left things up for interpretation. A park? What could he bring in a park? A car? No. He'll just have to go there and find out.
He ditched the wheel-chair today. It was special after all.
The weather was absolutely lovely, even if the morning started out weirdly foggy, promising rain or cold, it warmed out and the sun shined through the clouds. That fact alone managed to put a smile on his face. In all actuality he couldn't contain his eagerness to find out what was going on in the park. He didn't exactly find Itachi right away, because even if he mentioned the are where he should be he never would have thought he would find the man sitting at a bistro, with no less than four puppies on the table.
He couldn't take in the sight. What were those dogs doing there? The Uchiha motioned he got closed and he sat down bewielded.
"There are 4 puppies on this table, Itachi...." This couldn't be their table... Why were there dogs on the table?
"Yes. I bought them." There was an incredible wide smile on the brunet's face. "Happy anniversary!"
Nagato covered his mouth, his hands were shaking and he was on the verge of tears: tears of joy.
"These are our dogs?! No way!" He jumped out of the seat with the expression of possibly the happiest man alive. "No way!" He laughed out again, seating down, covering his mouth once more. No, he couldn't believe it. His insides became a mash of twitching emotions he could no longer control. Good lord, Itachi bough 4 puppies! He was insane and probably Shisui lend a hand.
His hands stretched out towards the brunet, cupping his face, leaning in for what might have been the most passionate kiss they ever shared. He looked down at the living gifts unable to contain the ecstasy he was experiencing. the red-haired started to pet them gently, the little dogs starting to sniff and lick his hands.
"Hello, there little guys. Oh my god, aren't you all so gorgeous! So beautiful! Hey!"
Itachi didn't say anything further as the man and the pets bonded, he just watched, head rested in his hand as his boyfriend was enjoying every single moment of this. You could literally grab the happiness surrounding Nagato at this moment. And they both laughed out when the big black puppy started licking his face. There was literally no room for words and everything seemed tinted in a golden light.
Looking back at Itachi he looked love-struck, truly. And it only made him smile further; his chest couldn't contain his heart anymore.
"It was Shisui's idea, wasn't it?" the red-haired finally tried to phrase a coherent sentence. Itachi simply nodded. "Why four!?"
"Because they won't come in a smaller number." the brunet snorted. "I swear I tried."
"Have you found names for them yet?"
"We decided we'll do that after the interview is over. He'll be meeting us here."
That sounded brilliant. And the afternoon passed by beautifully. They ordered something at the bistro and Nagato found himself laughing with the two sisters cuddled in his lap. At some point they both thought they fell asleep. The black male managed to lick Itachi's glasses clean to the displeasure of the man. They were trying to find suitable names for the pack they we currently in possession of: brainstorm and propose them to Shisui when he got back. Once the other male tried to run away and the Uchiha had to run after it, leaving in the red-haired man's care yet another pup.
They left the bistro and almost literally ran after the still without leashes fantastic four as Shisui insisted on calling them, until not only the pups but the owners as well ran out of breath.
"You can still feel your legs right?"
Nagato simply nodded, eyes closed, covered in fur from neck down: "This is the best gift you could have ever made. Thank you. Both of you."
A phone call before any other action could be taken: Shisui.
/"You're not at the bistro."/ And he was trying to find them.
"We're near the kid's park."
/"You ran didn't you? Both of you since there no stopping that guy from enjoying dogs. Is Nagato alright?"/
"Aside from being devoured by furry gremlins, he's fine. In fact he's content about that as well." And the red-haired laughed out loud so hard he woke up one of the said gremlins.
A snort from the phone’s speaker: /"I'm coming to pick you up."/
There was no doubt why the Uchiha was out of breath, all this time he had been running with a cage with him, the place where the puppies will return in on their trip back home. And when Shisui made an appearance, there were no more fur blankets covering the skinny red-haired.
"So you managed to save him from the furry gremlins?" the curly haired brunet laughed.
"We've decided on names for the 4 horsemen of apocalypse: that black one is war, the grey one is death, the red one is too stupid and blondie is an actual cinnamon roll too pure for this world." Nagato told the others.
"Is he drunk or has he been scrolling on tumblr. for too long?"
At that none of them could hold their laughter in after such a retort, all of them knowing too well the man didn't drink and spent too much time on a website that got on his nerves.
"Alright. I'll be serious this time: We liked Misao, for the white onw, and Mikasa, the grey,"
"Snow White and Lady Grey fit too." Itachi face-palmed. "I like the names. I was kidding." the older Uchiha assured the others, falling on the bench next to him.
"So it's Misao and Mikasa then?" And the curly haired nodded. "What about Karasu for the black one?"
"We already have enough things named 'crow' to have a wolf be called that too. How's Kotaro sounding?"
"I like it." Nagato replied and Itachi smiled in approval as well. The other Uchiha knew the name belonged to Shisui's former martial arts mentor, an amazing, stubborn and free-spirited man.
"For the remaining one" the long hair Uchiha started. "Nagato came up with Kurama, however I don't think it fits all that well."
"Hey! But I thought we were naming him Nagashi."
The red-haired's purple eyes bulge open. They were not naming their dog after his and Shisui's first syllable! Beside the dog didn't even look like one who would fit the name: "Shisui..."
"Alright. Let's leave Kurama for now. Either that or Naruto."
The Uzumaki almost sank in the bench hearing the name of that boy. Itachi shook his head: "Please leave it Kurama... Your humor has dulled down this evening."
"I'm saving the good stuff up for the dinner."
Ah, the festive dinner. Yes. There were still two hours left till then, however they should be going already. At least they settled on names for the 4 rascals: Kurama, Kotaro, Misao and Mikasa.
