She wasn’t sure when exactly it had happened.
She considered it a silly crush, her admiration giving way to infatuation of the man that was dubbed Humanity’s Strongest. And despite becoming apart of his squad and learning he was quite different from what the rumors chalked him up to be, the silly crush remained.
But here Petra was, convincing herself that no, confessing to your captain that you have fallen in love with him wasn’t a great idea. Yet it was the other half of her mind, the half controlled by her heart, that told her otherwise. It certainly wasn’t something that came out of nowhere, she reminded herself as she made her way to his office. They had become quite close, enough that she had become familiar with a few quirks and habits that others in her squad had no clue about. And perhaps she found herself telling him a bit more about herself than any other subordinate would tell their leader. And not to mention they had more than once on occasion engaging in kisses, cuddles, and overall relaxation in each other’s company. She was never sure what exactly it meant for him, but as it continued, she found her silly crush evolving into more than just infatuation.
She arrived at his office, his door ever so slightly ajar. She knocked, hand gripping the door through the crack as she pushed it open.
“Captain?”

“Care to tell me what’s going on?”
Mikasa’s eyes shot open and she stood up straight, giving the man a quick salute. “N-No, sir, I was just resting my eyes. Only for a moment. I had a hard time falling asleep last night. It won’t interfere with my work today, I assure you.”
Levi rolls over in his sleep and drapes an arm over Petra, moving in close and spooning her.
Petra stirs momentarily as his arm comes across her, sighing contently as she feels him move in closer. She presses back against him, closing whatever gap that was left between them.
The evening had long settled in, dinner had been served and the squad now arguing over who would be cleaning up. A slight frown had etched itself onto her delicate features as her eyes glanced over the empty chair at their table. It was not odd that every once in a while the captain favored working through dinner to finish the stack of paperwork that was due to Erwin so that he may review and forward to the capital. The frown that curved her lips was less so much that he did not join them, but rather more so that she had barely seen the man that day. And that as well would not be as odd if it had not been for the fact that she and the captain were involved.
Petra recalled only seeing that day two or perhaps even three times, their presence lingering together for minutes and encounters more professional than personal (each time, she had been with another member of their squad or was around other corps members.) She had attempted to bring him tea that afternoon, knowing he had a full stack of paperwork that would take more than a few hours to complete. But when she entered his office, she was only met with an open window and a stack of papers weighted down with a book to secure it from the light breeze.
Standing from her seat and ignoring Auruo's insistence that she washed the dishes the best, she picked up her own plate to bring to the kitchen, setting it down in the basin and washing her hands. Picking up another plate, she began to fix it with what they had prepared for dinner. She filled a glass with fresh water, figuring she'd make him tea when she brought everything back down, then grabbed some napkins and silverware, and made her way back through the dining area.
"I'll take dinner up to Captain Levi." She spoke, before any of them had a chance to say anything.
Petra made her way up to his office, balancing his plate in the crook of her arm as she knocked first, before entering.
"Captain." She spoke as she entered, closing the door behind her. "I brought your dinner up for you."
