The Shinrian Winter Solstice and our team bonfire is coming up and we wanted to come up with an explanation but neither of us knew how to write it all out so we worked together on another infographic to start us out here
Any questions? ^_^

I figure you lot might know. What's the best place to get a beer in Shinria. Most unique niche craft shit that you physically can't find anywhere else.
Sigh~ withholding this one from you would just be evil, I think.
Cider's Roughouse Pub in Nectartun. Ain't care for the league but Cider's easily the best guy outta 'em, and the man's talent plus the reputation he's got to uphold leads to the kinda stuff people travel across regions for.
Hey. What's your vibe towards your pokemon? Gotta check to see if I can try n target y'all for some team phobia shelter adopts. We got some wonderful little guys who need homes. And as far as I know we're the only shelter that would be willing to home pokemon with criminals. So if y'all wanted to adopt we'd be your best option. Ethically sourced pokemon to do crime with yall.
Only if y'all are chill criminals though.

Yeah 100% understand that question with the types of folks on here
WELL! A lot of our stuff around Pokemon is inspired from the bossman. Casey seemsta respect Pokemon more than other people sometimes, and while I don't think we all take it to that extent it's still model behavior yknow? So like, we never restrict things that make our Pokemon dangerous, in fact we like to bolster em there!
I never put a muzzle on Chessy even when she's especially snappy, mister the boss rarely has to worry bout his Espurr Fay's powers building up since she's always releasing it in places, if you get a Houndoom bite you can go cry about it, so on and so forth.
We don't hole em up in the ball much either! The whole base is full of folks running and floating around, it leads to some fights breaking out but nuthin we can't fix them up for, they get somethin out of it and we don't have to bother cleaning up after the warehouse since who cares if it's a little battered down!? There are cleaner little spaces around the grunts quarters though.
Oh yeah, and the main type of crime is vandalism, though it's occasionally modified with thefts or breaking out mons that have been deemed dangerous fellas! We even helped a sealed away Gengar take some vengance too, that was a fun one!~
We're most likely gonna leave the grunts to take a look at the folks you're setting up for adoption in this case, but we'd also monitor the little guys ourselves, kinda our job to watch after the grunts and make sure they're DOING THEIR JOB!
[A video is attatched to this post.]
[The video and audio quality is poor. There's a quiet warbling sound in the distance, the wind or a howling Pokemon?]
[Shapes start rolling in.]
[They have the size of clouds but move and waver like wisps of flame. Quickly passing behind them are indescernable shadows of Pokemon flying across the sky.]
[A great cloud rolls in, and slowly a shape emerges from it, rising like a living creature picking itself up from the ground.]
[Then, a physical form burts out of the cloud, illuminating the darkness.]
[It lets out an echoing howl, one that sounds like this.]
[It then jolts forward, breathing a fan of flames onto the landscape hidden from the camera's view.]
[The video cuts to black.]
[It comes back much clearer as the camera - no, a phone this time - is picked up and comes to face Beau.]
"Hey there, Rotomblr! Nice to see you again, sorry for being offline for a bit. We were busy setting this footage up to be nice and clear for you all, but doing base repairs hung us up on that a little bit. Now that everything's nice and pretty again, here's a bit of context. That thing at the end right there? That's Hiluta."
"Five days ago, the night of the summer solstice, they rampaged through our region [she says with exaggerated, mocking bravado], lulling us to sleep with its music as the night dawned before questing to whisk away everyone in its path and burn down as much of our cities as it could with its few hours"
"That's the tragedy, then, because when the morning dawns it stows away in the Magic Forest again for a year, rising again the next summer solstice. There's another Pokemon, Ushidin, that only runs free during the winter solstice before dissapearing again. That's how it's been, written in the records going back to a hundred years."
[She shakes her head, and gives the camera sad eyes when she turns back. Something makes it feel a little unnerving.]
"That's sad, isn't it? But no one else sees it that way. After the next few days of cleanup for the rest of the month, the last day is a festival celebrating the next couple of months of peace. Tch, peace is for cowards. Team Riders formed around that very idea, that these Pokemon, just like us, have a drive and purpose for destruction no one else will respect."
"The Solstice Twins are just a problem to most of Shinria. We, however, have taken a much deeper look into this Pokemon and made some discoveries. They are, in fact, cursed, and our team's goal is to set them both free."
So somethin about our region that gets me wondering: The two legendary beasties that cause havoc around here, Ushidin and Hiluta, awaken on the Winter and Summer solstices respectively. Are there maybe guys like that for the Spring and Autumn equinoxes too?
Legend says that Ushidin and Hiluta got cursed and sealed away for their wildness, so maybe in line with being the most balanced and mild times of the year, we don't hear anything about any equinox Pokemon cuz they don't bother anyone, kinda like how those illusive "mythical" types go about things.
🔥 What is your character passionate about? What really gets them excited?
Ah-ha! See, when an enemy comes after us, or we come after them, one of two things happens.
Pretty often it's young trainers being sent off to begin a league journey. They're just doing what they're told, ain't a real threat to us, never had to step in myself for them. Typically they come to us, and I get to watch Jace and Beau entertain their wild sides. Seeing a young one get a real battle for the first time, a taste of what battling should be, is always a real thrill, even if my boys see it more as a nuisance.
But then, every now and then, we catch wind of someone, be it a league member or gov worker or whoever else thinks they'll finally be the man to put Team Riders in the dust. This time, we meet up with them. We size up their attitude, take what we've heard about them, then decide which among me or my boys should take care of them.
They lose. We judge what happens to them next. Let them go with a bit of a chase to scare them, question them flanked by our Pokemon if they might know something about the Fairy beasts, or, if we decide they really asked for it, I get to use my old steel pipe.
Us urbanized and chained up folks enacting nature's wrath and will. That's what I live for.
hey boss what legendary are you planning on destroying/taking over the world with
Aye, I can see why you'd expect that, but I don't have a lick of interest in world domination and all that. What's there in the human world for you to rule over except for big metal buildings, huh?
Destruction is a facet of what we do, though. And really, is that all that bad? See, Shinria is really two regions in my mind. There's the people trying to wrangle our wild and magical region into something more acceptable, then there's the Pokemon and magic forests that will never bend to those people. We ride with the ladder. My place is with the wild and destructive beasts that people will pretend to have love for till they meet the things face to face.
There is a time long ago in Shinria that humans bested nature, though. Ushidin and Hiluta, the Archfey of Shinria, who were sealed away for their destructive and uncontrollable powers and only manage to slip out yearly under the power of the solstices. But again, can't we put up with a little destruction?
I suppose you can think of Team Riders as half motorcycle gang, half rescue operation. And if that rescue results in a massive storm of revenge for the things, well, who are we to stop them?
Wish I was better at the guitar. There's this song I'm tryna learn in time for our big bonfire, it's the bossman's favorite. Some Unovan's take on Shinrian legend, he got lucky that he nailed the vibe and got popular with the team.
"Chandelures in the Sky". Old country song bout a tough wanderer seeing Ushidin and their ghost hoard of Chandelure and Gengar and such, and getting the mortality scared back into him.
I ain't a country guy, but the bossman is into more of that. I like the song. Think he'd like it played for him, y'know?
