Fic: Shopping
Summary: Shady Shin and Asami go gift shopping for one another. A/N: I'm kind of stretching the theme for today, but it's the only thing I could come up with! --- “It’s…” Asami says, lifting the gold chain, with its name plate loudly declaring “Asami” in large, gaudy cursive, turning it this way and that so she can get a better look at it. “…shiny. Thank you.” Shin says nothing, is too busy turning over the silver pocket watch in his hands, fingers the chain gently, as though afraid he might snap the delicate links right off if he handles it any more roughly. Asami smiles at this. She takes the watch from his hands. “You tell time with it,” she supplies helpfully, slipping the watch into the pocket of Shin’s jacket, fastening the chain to one of the buttonholes. She takes a step back to get a better look at him. The silver watch clashes horribly with Shin’s gold jewelry. Shin smiles wryly. “Really? I never would’ve guessed, bearcat,” he says. Carefully, he takes the necklace from Asami’s grasp, and, motioning for her to turn around, fastens it around her neck. He examines her closely. The name plate sits on her chest awkwardly, ungainly and completely out of place. They smile. “Perfect.”
