Wife Wins: Rufflet Edition

What’s the fun in shiny hunting if you don’t shiny hunt with friends and family, right? My wife wanted help with shiny hunting a rufflet and for good reason- their brown plumage is striking in its own way and shiny Braviary has truly majestic colors.

We quickly set up our lure sandwich with the following ingredients:

3 servings of prosciutto

1 serving of cucumber

1 serving of pickles

The goal here was to lure flying Pokémon! I’m not sure why they like prosciutto but they have good taste!

My wife is an excellent trainer so she completed the Pokédex long before me and has her shiny charm so I wasn’t too surprised when we ran into shiny Rufflet on our first try (no picnic reset). I’ve had this sort of luck fairly consistently in any picnic with herba mystica 🌿 and the shiny charm in involved. It goes to show that it really is worth the extra effort to complete the dex for more consistent results.

If you go to catch your own shiny Rufflet, I would recommend being careful of sandstorms that can often pop up in their most popular habitats. Not only will you need to be aware of your own Pokémon being buffeted by the storm but also Rufflet who for some reason chooses to live in these less than ideal habitats. That’s why it’s always important to save, when you can!
