//Zazu is already well entrenched with his job at that point and would definitely not want to run around risking his life all the time with a bunch of children. Even if there was no Ono then there’s still Anga, and essentially any other bird or even something like a giraffe/monkey/ostrich

What would you say if, uh, one of the lionesses heard a little hyena crying, saw it was apparently orphaned, and decided to take it in earlier today? Asking for a friend. //Kind of in a character study mood, so have this little scenario.

“Hyenas are not allowed to live in the Pride Lands. I am open to welcome any species that respects the laws but hyenas don’t respect the Circle of Life. And if there was an orphaned hyena cub here, I would seek a hyena clan for them.”

Seems more to me like he’s trying to help him overcome that trauma, but lazy writing made it less “supportive therapy to help with stressful memories” and more “forcing your kid to ride a ride he’s terrified of because face your fears”.

Then why did he not say anything when Simba called on him for help? I get the idea behind him sending that message to Rafiki about Kiara and Kovu (Simba’s prejudice against Kovu was because he reminded him of Scar, and playing matchmaker for Kiara and Kovu was supposed to help him overcome that prejudice), but why not just appear to Simba himself and say “it’s not cool to banish this guy because he reminds you of the guy who killed me”?

Mufasa trying to be hip would be one of the worse "what's lit fellow kids" moments the world has ever seen. Fortunately, he's never felt the need to do so.

Yes omg. Only reason it’s not a 10 is because I actually could see him trying to relate to the younger animals of the Pridelands and ending up looking like a total dork.
