Ship december day 20 - NYK Liner
Changing the layout 500 times because i suddenly like sketching now ! I had hikawa maru on my to-do list for quite a while and ougggg finally got her done. The patterns on the outfit are inspired by the furnishings and interiors and the fan is based off a stained glass window aboard. I love tiny niche details
my ass looked several references for kimonos and japanese clothing and i feel like im gonna be burnt at a stake ouuuuu
Day 2 - Cunard liner
RMS Aquitania
We keep going! Ship December day 19 - 19th century liner! Decided to do the (anything-but-)great eastern because i had a concept for her for quite a while now, but most importantly: i had a vision. I yearned for old people with freakishly tall proportions. And here we are. Just a quick bust up and coloured an earlier concept because boy. I am at war with lineart. I need a break bro. I had TWO concept sketches for her save me. Anyway I am really happy with her design for this is my vibe
Shipcember day 2 - Cunard liner No i did NOT forget about my own monthly challenge!! I'm just dead on the ground and would never in my life be able to do all the prompts. I will try to keep going though <3
Anyway, here's QM2! Queen Mary hates to see her coming and pretends like she's not related to her. I needed a character with rollerblades real bad you have no idea.
Ship December day 13 - Dazzle paint
My Olympic and Mauretania already have their designs based (entirely or partially) on their dazzle, so I decided to go with levi for this prompt! That dazzle was SO GOOD. Leviathan was a part of the town guard in my au for a while but decided that this job wasn't for him. And I guess he found olympic intimidating
I <3 carpal tunnel inducing patterns. my love.
Summoning all the ship and boat enjoyers!
(Posting this a week early so that some potential participants have time to prepare) For December, I decided to create a drawing prompt list focused on ocean liners and other ships (and some other aspects of them)! Anyone is welcome to participate - whether you draw the ships as boats, as humans, or anything else! You don't have to do all the prompts, obviously - the most important thing is to have fun! (and hopefully motivate myself to draw)
Tag your submissions #Shipcember and/or #Ship December! Can't wait to see what you come up with this December!
Ship December day 11 - Submarine This was the chance for me to doodle up some u-boat concepts for my human ocean liner au (it took me 500 years)! Nothing more fun than being a disturbance to the public. Obviously there's more of them - both from ww1 and ww2 eras, but today's subjects are (in order) u-156, u-35 and u-103
Count this as another day of drawing weird freaks I guess. 10 notes or something and I will draw Olympic running over 103 with her car
