absolutely! here he is playing guitar hero

he has a horrible little gamer nest with an rgb custom built pc that he plays on and its not ergonomic to use in the slightest. he bought a gamer chair cause he thought it looked cool but most of the time he just hangs around using his cables instead. shockwave went in there and saw the amount of lights and monitors and instantly understood why soundwave gets so many migraines.

Soundwave might be a warframe now, but he wasn't forged that way. He asked Shockwave to reformat his frame shortly after their mutual living arrangements began, and went from a boxy radio broadcasting terminal frame to a sleek flying wing configuration. His new wings took some time to get used to, and learning to use them wasn't without some difficulty (especially when your teacher is a rotary), but flight eventually came as naturally as entering a data stream.

Soundwave also came to realize there were some social expectations that came with being a flight frame, and quickly took notice of the way other fliers looked at him strangely during conversation. He didn't emote with his wings the way they did instinctively, an essential form of unspoken communication he hadn't grasped upon changing frame types. He didn't let that get to him. After all, using his wings during conversation wasn't a requirement, and his biolights served the same purpose.

absolutely i love talking about him

soundwave has subtle biolights that can be seen in the visible spectrum, they brighten and dim as a form of expression and also serve as indicators for his energy levels, but lately @gaybeardedmen and i have been discussing cybertronians having markings only visible to each other in different light wavelengths

his surgical scars are visible in infrared light inbetween transformation seams, in a way that subtly indicates to the trained eye that his frame has undergone extreme alterations, and his decepticon brand is visible in ultraviolet paint on his wings

What's Shockwave like in your AU?

shockwave is actually a surgeon in shipwrecked! his alt mode is a med-evac helicopter and though he prefers operating and experimenting in his lab, he does have plenty of experience with battlefield surgery. his gun arm is actually a multi-tool with several surgical implements he can cycle through, alongside being a functioning laser rifle and second servo.

before the war he was a medical professor at the iacon academy of sciences pioneering experimental procedures, including that of complete frame reformatting: a highly controversial theoretical experiment in changing a bot's forged frame caste from warfame to civilian and vice versa. the fact that he was making legitimate progress in turning the theoretical viable (alongside his own questionable theorem and morals) turned heads within the council and thus led to his empurata.

he shares his lab space with soundwave and was the one to perform his frame reformat into a warframe, one of the few successful reformats in history, and has been his primary caregiver since soundwave's fatigue set in. shockwave might be an expert when it comes to medicine but he isn't as well versed in the technical side of things, so soundwave helps him when he needs tech support or to have someone show him how to edit a pdf.

he also shares his lab space with another member of the nemesis crew involved in the crash: sunstorm!

Waypoint(he/him) is the Decepticon navigator, with an outlier ability that grants his internal GPS more range than any ship or satellite radar. His passion lies in stellar cartography, creating holo-maps of the known universe for use aboard ship computers.

He was built a warframe bomber, frame designed to deliver payloads of mass destruction, and the guilt he carries from leveling cities continues to grow within his spark.

Not one to remain in one place for too long, he often takes long excursion flights to explore new landscapes and places he's never been to. Nothing satisfies his wanderlust better than seeing unique geological formations on foreign worlds. He has a collection of rocks and crystals he's taken as souveniers.

It was due to his suggestion that the race to seek the Enigma of Combination upon Caminus began...

Upon crash landing on Earth, he chooses the XB-70 Valkyrie as an alt mode.

Does Soundwave hang around a lot (with his cables) or does he use them for transportation?

both actually! he moves like those procedurally generated walking tentacle creatures (kinda like some of the critters in rain world) where each of his cables attach to a point before pulling him forward. he can get around on walls, floors, ceilings, and over difficult terrain and through narrow spaces so long as his frame fits and his cable claws have something to grip or magnetize onto. more often though he uses them for hanging around and sleeping on, the perfect hammock. its not unusual to catch him hanging around asleep like this when he could have gone to his berth

Hi! What's Starscream's deal in your AU?

his skills lie in aerial combat and his passion lies with astronomy. he was pressured into dropping out of the academy of sciences once the war started up and has been bitter about it ever since, so he shifted his mindset to "if they want me to be a warframe, they'll get one," and fought his way into the upper echelon of military leadership. now he's second in command of the decepticons and retains control of the air force. he does frequently butt heads with megatron and the two often get into lasting arguments over simple matters (it does not escalate into physical violence).

personality-wise he's loud and brash, but cunning and quick witted. he's got a lot of his g1 personality along with having a similar alt mode. holds a lot of grudges and knows to always watch his back with how many enemies he's made in both factions. in my head he sounds like invader zim.

during the crash he is flung into a broken console and severely electrocuted, resulting in him being kept in a medically induced stasis lock until he can be properly treated. he won't deny the resulting scars are pretty badass.

skywarp and thundercracker are worried sick about him back home on cybertron...

(side note: in shipwrecked, jetfire is alive and well on cybertron and the two met after starscream had already dropped out of the academy. jetfire is a decepticon and the two are strictly acquaintances)

Hi! How do your Cons and Bots (or just Soundwave if it's too much work) deal with frustration?

thanks for the ask! gonna do my top 3 fav cons

soundwave is normally very level headed in the face of frustrations, but on the occasions where something does get to him he tends to occupy himself with something engaging while he processes what he's feeling. he likes fast paced video games, mostly rhythm games and fighting games (skywarp is his favorite opponent)

shockwave has difficulty processing emotions. when frustrated, he tends to pour himself into his work in the hopes of escaping it. the primary source of his frustrations is personal dissatisfaction with his own work, primarily in procedures gone wrong, not meeting his own expectations, or missing self-imposed deadlines.

starscream is terrible at dealing with frustrations. he will let everyone know exactly what is bothering him but will do nothing to solve the problem. he'll lock himself in his room and scream into his pillow or vent his anger during target practice. typically takes a while to cool down to the point where he can address the issue again.
