Shirahige Shrine, near Takashima in Shiga, is one of several shrines around Lake Biwa with torii out in the lake. Since the last time we were here, they’ve barred people from crossing the (admittedly busy) road to go down to the lake to take a closer look, but it doesn’t really stop the more adventurous tourists...
