Fans of the hobbit movies, I need your opinion on something.
So the theme that plays during important scenes with Bilbo is the Shire Theme, also known as Concerning Hobbits.
But. Howard Shore originally wrote a theme specifically for Bilbo called Dreaming Of Bag End that ultimately was only used once, during the credits of the first movie.
I get why Peter Jackson went with the Shire Theme, it was a strategic marketing choice to appeal to fans of lotr.
But I want to know: if you’ve heard both of these scores, which do you think fits Bilbo better? The Shire Theme/Concerning Hobbits, or Dreaming Of Bag End?
@3friesshortofahappymeal your comment about the pennywhistle reminded me!!! i taught myself this when i was thirteen and my mom bought me a tenor recorder that year, so obviously i just about broke everything in my house to find this again. and here we go. i practiced for exactly five minutes before hitting record just to refresh my memory lol
The Shire theme at the beginning of the movies: beautiful and pastoral and sweet :)
The Shire theme by the end of the movies: absolutely heartbreaking
Hobbit/LOTR Marathon Week 6
My favorite music is definitely the Shire theme, but the Edoras theme is a close second.
This will get you all through the final 10 hours of sylvi10 day.
