Shirley henderson - Babu Frik in The Rise of Skywalker and Anzellan Crew in The Mandalorian - discusses her packed career.

She's one of the UK's busiest actors, and while she doesn't discuss her role as Babu Frik in The Rise of Skywalker, The Guardian chat with Shirley Henderson about her many roles and how she balances it all. To think, it was here – or somewhere like it in a previous home – that Henderson first worked out how Hogwarts’ bathroom-dwelling ghost Moaning Myrtle would sound as she bleated her way through lines such as: “I was just sitting in the U-bend thinking about death.” It was here, too, that she practised warning Bridget Jones about disloyal boyfriends (“Even if he isn’t shagging her already, Bridge, he’s thinking about it”) and decided on the sad-but-sinister coochy-coo whisper of Frances, the lonely misfit manipulated by a psychopath in the second series of Happy Valley. And this must have been where she crafted her cameo as Agatha Christie in the madcap whodunit See How They Run, as well as her voice work as Quackety Duck Duck in the children’s series Lovely Little Farm and as the mewling Babu Frik in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. 하나뿐인 9살짜리 조카가 말했다. "있잖아요, 고모, 해리포터에 나오는 사람 닮았어요." "......" 둥글고 흰 얼굴에, 동그란 안경에, 눈썹 짙은 사람이라면 한두 번쯤 듣지 않을 수 없는 말. 웨이브 많이 들어간 긴 머리였을 때 해리뿐만 아니라 심지어 헤르미온느 운운하는 말도 몇 번 들어서 심드렁하게 물었다. "해리 포터에서 누구? 나오는 사람들이 한두 명도 아니고." "모우닝 머틀이요! 해리 포터에 나오는 귀신이에요." "...귀신? 하필이면 귀신이랑 고모랑 닮았단 거냐...?" 이제 와 고백하자면 왜인지 모르겠지만 나는 정말 해리 포터를 단 한 권도 읽지 않았고. 영화도 극장에서 단 한 편만 봤을 뿐이고. 내가 봐도 가끔 밤에 거울을 보면 귀신 같기도 하지만... "왜요! 모우닝 머틀이 얼마나 예쁜데요! 그런데 모우닝 머틀 변태예요. 화장실에 숨어 살면서 사람들을 막 훔쳐봐요!" "......" 황당한 조카의 말 때문에 그래서 검색해보니... 셜리 핸더슨, 그녀는 나보다 열 살이 많은 중견 배우였고 무시무시한 동안이었다. 뭘 보고 닮았다는 건지는 대충 알겠는데... 아, 정말. 그렇지 않아도 더 나빠진 눈, 안경을 벗고 다닐 수도 없고. 언젠가는 챙겨보려 했던 해리 포터 시리즈, 왠지 더 보기 싫어지고 말았다...^^; 거룩한 어린이날과 어버이날을 보내며 떠오르는 건 조카와의 말씨름뿐. Said my one and only nine-year-old niece. "Auntie, you look like someone from the #HarryPotter series! " " ...... " Anyone with a round, white face, thick eyebrows, round glasses.. would have heard such a remark at least once or twice. I was often told that I looked like Hermione Granger when I had long curly hair, as well as Harry Potter. So I stayed still and asked my niece, as if nothing was new. "Who's on the Harry Potter? So many characters in the series." "Moaning Myrtle! A ghost on that movie." "......" Now I confess, I don't know why, but I never really read a single volume of the Harry Potter series. I only saw just one of the Harry Potter series movies in a theater. Sometimes I look like a ghost in the mirror at night, but... "...A ghost? You mean I look like a ghost, of all characters?" "How pretty she is! But #MoaningMyrtle is a pervert. She lurking in the bathroom and watching people secretly." "......" So I searched it because of the embarrassing words of my niece. The veteran British actress, #ShirleyHenderson is ten years older than me, but has an incredibly youthful look on her face. I can roughly guess what I look like Moaning Myrtle from my niece's view... But ah, come on! My eyes get worse so I can't take my glasses off! I was going to read the Harry Potter series someday, but I got tired of it all the more.
