I've been afraid of clowns since I was six years old. (Back in 1994 🥲)
One of my uncles told me I had to watch this “fun little movie” (yes, IT… of course IT) that was airing that night. I had a TV in my room back then, and my uncle was always a tiny bit sadistic 🤣.
So little Jenny sat there, watching… absolutely terrified, but completely unable to look away.
Fast forward six years and I picked up Stephen King’s book — and somehow I fell completely in love with the story. When the remake came out, I was beyond excited, and honestly? I loved it even more than the original.
IT Chapter Two was kind of a disappointment though, so I didn’t expect Welcome to Derry to be any good.
But oh boy… I was so wrong.
It’s one of the best series I’ve watched in a very long time. The atmosphere, the storytelling, the tension — everything just hits. And when I realized Bill Skarsgård was returning as Pennywise? I was over the moon. He’s absolutely phenomenal.
But it’s not just him. Every actor in this series delivers an incredible performance, and the themes they explore are more important than ever. Because honestly? A far more terrifying horror than Pennywise is the racism and the ignorance of people — something the show addresses with painful clarity. It’s a reminder that the real monsters are often the humans themselves.
